Because it has been established. In the "Examination of Relations" it says, "If this thing exists elsewhere, why do the two depend on each other? If they depend, they will be beneficial. If they do not depend, how can they be beneficial?" Because it is said that way. Second, if one considers it a relationship merely because the name of the effect does not arise without depending on the cause, then all things such as left and right horns, this shore and the other shore, long and short, etc., would become cause and effect, because without depending on the right horn, etc., the name of the left horn, etc., would not arise. In the "Examination of Relations" it says, "If because one thing is related, those two are cause and effect, because the two, etc., are related, the left and right horns are also obtained in that way." Because it is said that way. Second, the negation of relationship in the category of cause and effect, even if the self-character of cause and effect does not establish a "that being produced" relationship, if the category of cause and effect establishes a "that being produced" relationship, that is not reasonable. Does the category of cause and effect act on cause and effect itself, or does it act on something else? If it is the former, then for cause and effect, the reasoning that establishes the negation of relationship in meaning is the same. If it is the latter, if the category is the same entity as its own distinct things, then the reasoning that refutes the Samkhya school's view that the general and the particular are the same entity is the same. If it is a different entity, then the reasoning that refutes the Vaisheshika school's view that the general and the particular are different entities is the same. Third, the negation of relationships other than that, namely, "This negates conjunction and aggregation, difference and that which possesses difference, the agent and encounter, etc., which are considered to be relationships." That is to say, here there are two things: the aforementioned view and its negation. First, like a pillar relying on a tree, this is the relationship of conjunction. The general tree as a permanent support, while the individual sandalwood, etc., as impermanent supports, is the relationship of aggregation. Or, the sound of different entities such as created and impermanent is related, or mucus and nostrils, etc., are related to white mucus, or the material for weaving cloth, cotton thread, is related to cloth, etc., this is the relationship of aggregation in one thing. Understanding someone with a stick by means of the stick, etc., this is the relationship of the nature of the differentiating function. The cessation of the cause and the present effect are the relationship of connection. The permanent self and the impermanent action are the relationship of the agent. The eye and color are the relationship of encounter.

And, for cuckoos and wrens, etc., it is considered a relationship of master and servant, and for swan couples, it is considered a relationship of husband and wife, etc., through separate imaginations, it is believed that there are actually many manifestations. The second point is that it is unreasonable because the establishment of a relationship in reality has already been prevented. Things that establish a relationship in terms of exclusion and have no hindrance are all included in the previous two relationships. For things that have hindrance, the relationship is not established even in terms of exclusion. For example, when a cane and a bamboo pole exist at the same time, a relationship is not established. The cane of the previous moment, and the subsequent bamboo pole that arises without falling downwards, is included in the relationship of that-being. The relationship of things like "made" and "impermanent" with sound is included in the relationship of one entity. Noga, Leka, Shal, etc., the subsequent group that arises as an aggregate from the former, is included in the relationship of that-being. During the seed period, coarse cloth is excluded because it is visible but not observed. The subsequent coarse cloth that arises from the previous seed is included in the relationship of that-being. When a person and a stick exist at the same time, a relationship is not established. From the person and stick of the previous moment, the subsequent person holding a stick arises, which is included in the relationship of that-being. The cause has ceased and the result is now present, the establishment of a relationship in reality has already been prevented. Connecting through the consciousness of excluding others is included in the relationship of that-being. For things other than that, a relationship is not established even in terms of exclusion. Second, establishing a relationship in terms of consciousness is divided into two: the way in which consciousness connects, and the classification of the relationship that is connected in this way. The first point is that, as explained earlier, the relationship of one entity is not actually established, but it is established in terms of consciousness. For the same pot, by distinguishing different sound concepts, the three that are not bulging in the abdomen, not destroyed in an instant, and not produced by a cause are distinguished, thereby separating the differences between the pot, impermanence, and what is made. By using a sound concept that unifies them, it is believed that this pot is impermanent because it is made, thereby establishing a relationship of one entity on the object that is grasped as one. That is also because the discriminating mind is arbitrary and without reason.
