It is similar to the exclusion distinction of non-existent things. Third, to determine all the key points on one basis, there are four points: the way to cut off what is to be refuted, the categories of names, the meaning of each word, and the actual indication on one basis. The first point is that when the expressing sound and the thought enter the object, they must cut off the actual contradiction of the object before entering. For example, when saying the word "take a cup of water with a bottle", if it is not excluded to take water with other containers (such as hands) other than the bottle, then it is not necessary to say the word "with a bottle" which is the kind of saying "take a cup of water". Similarly, when saying the word "take a cup of water", if it is not excluded to take things other than water (such as rags), then it is meaningless to say the word "water" which is the kind of saying "take a cup". Similarly, if the word "take a cup" does not exclude the state of not taking, then it is also meaningless to say the word "take a cup". These should also be applied to the object of entry of the thoughts that hold these. As the self-commentary says, "If it is used elsewhere, it becomes meaningless." For example, just like saying "take a cup of water with a bottle", if you want to take any kind of water with a bottle or hands, then you only need to say "take a cup of water", and you don't need to say "with a bottle". Similarly, if you need to take a rag or anything else, then you only need to say "take a cup", which is the one with the ability to act and the object of action. Similarly, if you want to take or do or not do anything else, then it is meaningless to say "take a cup" at this time, because the words have no meaning. Similarly, for the terms applied to words such as knowable, there must also be something to be cut off, otherwise, if there is no other doubt, then the application is unreasonable. The second point is that for the part that cuts off the actual contradiction, there are four categories of names: determination, exclusion of heterogeneity, exclusion, and inversion. For the part that appears on the object after cutting off the actual contradiction, there are many categories of names such as general, general appearance, mixture, and association. The third point is that by distinguishing the actual contradiction,

It is called "Coda," because it prevents this from those things. If it doesn't prevent, then how would it be? If this has distinguishing prevention, it is said. And, there are some distinguishing preventions, and it is established to express distinguishing prevention. Because it is said so. Because it eliminates contradictory things, it is called "other-ness exclusion" and "exclusion," which is the difference between what is to be excluded being actually said and not said. It is also said: "Therefore, other-ness exclusion is the object." And "The object of merely excluding." It is said so. Because it turns back from contradiction, it is "turning back." Because "turning back has a basis." And so on, many terms of turning back are spoken of. Because it follows all appearances, it is "general," because it is the common nature, it is "general characteristic." Because "it is shown as the object of the general." And, in the Sutra it is said: "Two characteristics are measurable." Because of that. Because it appears as if mixed in front of conceptualization, it is "mixed," because it appears as if relying on cutting off other things to be negated, it is "related." Because "when cutting off one meaning of mixed." And, in the "Related Observation" it is said: "Therefore, the relationship of all things is not real." Because of that. Fourth, taking the other-ness exclusion of tree and non-tree as examples, all the previous distinctions should be determined. In the conceptualization of grasping a tree, the imputation that appears as a tree, this dharma, is called "distinguishing exclusion," because it relies on distinguishing non-tree. The commentators consider the nature of turning back and other-ness exclusion to be non-affirming negation, which seems to be the root of the error caused by this. I entered the center of Dharmakirti's system and couldn't help but laugh. Again, this dharma is called "other-ness exclusion" and "exclusion," because it relies on eliminating contradictory things. It is called "turning back," because it appears to turn back from contradiction. It is called "general" and "general characteristic," because it appears to commonly follow all tree appearances. It is called "mixed" and "related," because all tree appearances appear as one meaning of tree. It is called "existence other-ness exclusion" and "thing's other-ness exclusion," because it cuts off what cannot accomplish the function of a tree and appears as the thing of a tree. It is called "sound's other-ness exclusion" and "mind's other-ness exclusion," because the actual expression of the sound of saying tree
