That which becomes the object of apprehension by conceptual thought through force is like the mere exclusion of non-pot. Secondly, that which is actually apprehended by conceptual thought is like the imputation that appears as a pot. The reason why the mere exclusion of non-pot is said to be apprehended by conceptual thought through the force of meaning is that, although the conceptual thought that grasps the pot does not actually have a way of grasping "the mere exclusion of non-pot is a pot," its grasping of the pot depends on the mere exclusion of non-pot. The reason why the imputation that appears as a pot is said to be actually apprehended by conceptual thought is that, for the conceptual thought that grasps the pot, there is actually the thought "it is a pot." That is its meaning. Thus, in the four ways, the first two are that conceptual thought takes the pot as an object through the way of excluding others, so the object of entry, the self-character of the pot, is the exclusion of others of the self-character of the meaning of the pot. The enterer, the apprehended aspect of the conceptual thought that grasps the pot, is the exclusion of others of the consciousness of the pot. Since the conceptual thought that grasps the pot as an object needs to exclude non-pot, conceptual thought considers the mere exclusion of non-pot as a non-affirming exclusion of others. If we distinguish the three exclusions of others, this is in accordance with reality, because obtaining the self-character of the object of entry through the way of excluding others requires the object to be obtained, the consciousness that obtains it, and the direct contradiction of the consciousness obtaining that object, and all three can be referred to by the term "exclusion of others." Thus, the necessity of establishing these three is that if the exclusion of others that obtains the self-character of the object of entry is not inverted, then all three are needed, because if the exclusion of others of meaning is not complete, even if the latter two are complete, it will become an inverted exclusion of others. For example, like the conceptual thought that grasps sound as permanent. The latter two are slightly different from this, because the conceptual thought that grasps the pot as an object needs to appear as a pot through the way of excluding non-pot, and the mere exclusion of non-pot is considered a non-affirming exclusion of others, while appearing as a pot is considered an exclusion of others of consciousness. This is slightly different from the treatise, because "reversal is without own-being" refers to the non-affirming exclusion of others, and also the consciousness of the general characteristic

is wrong. Because you have already admitted that the other-exclusion of mind is shown by "is a negation." The first treatise not only shows the distinction of non-pot, but also shows the imputation of appearing as a pot, because it shows the commonality that follows all pot appearances. The latter treatise should also not only show the imputation of appearing as a pot, because it shows that the pot-grasping conceptual thought is an illusion. Shakya-blo said, "Dependent on the opposite." Therefore, it is also unreasonable to think that the other-exclusion of reality is shown, because if the other-exclusion of non-negation is shown by "opposite is without self-nature," then the other-exclusion of non-negation must also be shown. From the sentence "Dependent on the opposite," it is inferred that in the self-commentary it says, "And how is it known that what is distinguished by sound and reasoning is understanding, and not that the establishment determines the self-nature of the object itself?" If it is said that the opposite of the basis of what is distinguished shows the other-exclusion of the reality's own characteristic, so there is no fault. Then, this is reasonable in meaning, but it is also contrary to "the self-nature is only the opposite," because if it is the self-nature, it must not be the opposite. In addition, since only the treatise on the other-exclusion of mind has been created, it is unreasonable to establish the actual object of expression of the expressing word as itself, because you have already admitted that the other-exclusion of non-negation is shown by "establishment is the expression of distinction." Second, regarding the views of those Tibetan scholars: if other-exclusion is other-exclusion, then it is pervasively the other-exclusion of non-negation; if that is the case, then it is pervasively any one of the non-negation and the other-exclusion of mind; if that is the case, then it is pervasively the other-exclusion of reality's own characteristic; any one of these three other-exclusions of the dharma can fulfill the other-exclusion of that dharma. In general, there is a distinction between other-exclusion and non-other-exclusion, and it is thought that if the basis is established, then it is pervasively other-exclusion, there are five views. First, some say: The definition of the other-exclusion of non-negation: any other-exclusion that does not project other dharmas after the object to be negated of itself has been negated. The definition of the other-exclusion of non-negation: any other-exclusion that has the reason to be expressed by the sound of other-exclusion, it projects other dharmas. If distinguished, it is divided into two types: the other-exclusion of mind and the other-exclusion of reality.
