Also said. This can also appear from words of praise. Second, the distinction from the perspective of results is that among the three: teaching, writing, and debating. The first has already been discussed slightly before, the second will be discussed later, and the third is that the six non-Buddhist teachers of southern India, such as Robbery Joy, etc., began to debate. When (he) was staying at the Noble Wati Temple in Mangyul Kyidrong (吉隆, circa 11th century) and the Adabor market, when those six teachers arrived, he refuted each of those evil opponents one by one, defeated them, and placed them in the ascetic practice of silence, and then removed the defilement of arrogance from the evil views of all of them, cut off their matted hair, and had them ordained in front of him. When it is certain to occur and there is wealth of jewels, if anyone arises who harms the teachings of the King Shakya, they should be subdued in the same way, thinking this, he said these words: Clothed in the ocean, on this vast earth without the bounds of the ocean, great god! Robbers, enslavers, those who make them gods, the capable one, the sage Star Joy, etc. The Extensive School, the Ant Mound School, the Fragment Eating School, the Foot-Eyed School, the followers of the Jains. With disheveled hair, wearing bark and leaf clothes, holding ashes, staffs, and kusha grass. Holding matted hair, skillfully twisted, wearing deerskin and antelope skin upper garments. With three horizontal lines on the forehead, marked at the top, holding sacred threads for worship. Having studied all the Vedas, skilled in chanting, having mastered sound and rhythm. Holding onto the view of self, constantly practicing austerities, with arrogance in their hearts. Such people, those non-Buddhist elephants, crushing the heads of those who are extremely drunk. Glorious Lion of Speech, powerful in wisdom, possessing fangs of reason. Skilled in grammar, with all parts perfectly complete, adorned with the matted hair of the Sugata's teachings. Proficient in Sanskrit, roaring with reason, completely refuting, eyes wide open. Such a king of beasts! Resides on the glorious Sakya snow mountain. Protecting the beasts of the wise. Destroying the fox packs of evil opponents. And still continuing to subdue non-Buddhists. After defeating all with the Dharma. May he raise the victory banner of the Sugata's teachings. Thus he spoke. This.

It also comes from words of praise. Third, in terms of being distinguished by signs: In his youth, he dreamed that the sun and moon rose from his two shoulders; at that time, he dreamed of reciting the verses of homage in the Pramāṇavārttika in Sanskrit; later, when Dignāga was appointed as the abbot, (people) said, "Please go," and so he went, and dreamed that (someone) handed him the key to a cave, saying that it was Dignāga's cave, with many books inside, and then he entered the cave. Such things were said. Fourth, in terms of being distinguished by the way of teaching: So, how does the Treasure of Reasoning teach the treatises of the two Lords of Reasoning, Dignāga and Dharmakīrti? On this, there are eleven chapters. The first chapter, at the beginning of the chapter on perception in both the Sūtra and the Pramāṇavārttika, explains the classification of the object of measurement, the self-characterized and the general, and in the chapter on perception, the object to be grasped, and in both the chapter on perception and the chapter on self-benefit, the object to be entered, etc. For these, Dharmakīrti and his followers prevented the view that the object to be grasped and the object of appearance are the same, and that the object to be entered and the object of attachment are the same. The self-characterized itself, depending on the respective minds that possess it, transforms into the three: the object of appearance, the object of attachment, and the object to be entered. The division into the self-characterized and the general is also a distinction from the point of view of the way of understanding, but ultimately it converges into one self-characterized. On this, there are many statements from both internal and external schools. Here, since it is the occasion to explain the tenets of the Sūtra and Mind-Only schools, the Sūtra school's view that the classification of the object to be grasped is reasonable. But the Mind-Only school believes that there is no external object other than the mind, so there is no classification of the object to be grasped. The second chapter, for the mind that possesses the object, there are two types: valid and invalid. The first, is explained in the last four chapters. Here, invalid cognition refers to the occasions in the Sūtra and the chapter on self-benefit in the Pramāṇavārttika, and the occasion of showing fallacious reasons in the Nyāyabindu, and in the chapter on other-benefit, the invalid cognition based on the three fallacious reasons among the seven fallacious reasons when explaining the nine reasons with the presence in the similar class, and in the case of apparent perception, non-conceptual perception.
