Time: The first two are permanent, and the latter twenty-three are impermanent. Furthermore, they are included in the four categories of cause and effect: neither cause nor effect, only cause, only effect, and both cause and effect. Among these four, the first is the Purusha (spirit). The second is Prakriti (nature). The third is the eleven senses and the five elements. The fourth is the Great (Mahat), Ahamkara (ego), and the five Tanmatras, totaling seven. Thus, it is also said that the fundamental nature is not transformation, the seven, starting with the Great, are nature and transformation, and the sixteen are transformations. The Purusha is neither nature nor transformation. So it is said. Fourth: Nature does not arise from any cause, but from it arises the Great. From the Great arise the three Ahamkaras. From the three Ahamkaras, from the Rajas-predominant Ahamkara arise the eleven senses, from the Sattva-predominant Ahamkara arise the five Tanmatras, and the Tamas-predominant Ahamkara only serves as a companion to the two, and there is no separate result. From the five Tanmatras arise the five elements. Thus, it is also said: From nature arises the Great, from that arises Ahamkara, and from that arise the groups of the sixteen. Thus, the sixteen arise, and from that also, from the five Tanmatras arise the five great elements. So it is said. The meaning of arising is not desired to mean newly arising from what was not before, but only desired to mean transforming from an unmanifest to a manifest nature. The meaning of ceasing is not desired to mean going from what was to non-existence, but only desired to mean dissolving into the nature of the Pradhana (chief). Fifth: From the outer surface of the Great, the images of the twenty-two transformations appear, which are grasped as objects of enjoyment and consumption, and from the inner surface, the image of the Purusha, the self-conscious spirit, appears. Confusing these two as one, when enjoying objects, it is called Samsara (cyclic existence). When disgust arises and one meditates, and sees with direct knowledge that the collection of transformations is a false illusion created by the Pradhana, the Pradhana becomes ashamed when being enjoyed, and gathers the collection of transformations into the Pradhana's womb, and when the self abides eternally and independently, it is termed obtaining liberation. Therefore, if the cause in this system is said to be the general and the chief, it is not all-pervasive, but nature becomes a synonym for those three, and the result

Posture and form, manifestation and difference, etc., are categories of names, and they believe that in these things, the general essence exists in an indivisible single entity. The second view is that, similarly, Tibetans also believe that "merely tree," which is universally present in the manifestation of various trees such as Shapa tree and Shuba tree, and "merely blue," which is universally present in various blues such as turquoise, exist in meaning, and are the same entity as their own manifestations, and thus symbolizing, all general appearances that manifest as things are one entity. The Great Self also said, "The people of Kang and the Samkhya agree, the Sakya and Gelug disagree." It is said that this is also the meaning. The third part has three aspects: refuting by the sign of being visible but not seen, refuting by analysis, and refuting by being too extreme. The first is: the manifestation of trees, as the subject of the proposition, your general appearance, which is the same entity as you, does not have the nature of a thing, because if it exists, you should be seen by the direct perception of grasping, but in reality it is not seen. The second part has three aspects: analyzing from the essence, analyzing from the cause, and analyzing from arising and ceasing to refute. The first is: is the general appearance of trees the entity of the Shapa tree? Or not? If not, then, as the subject of the proposition, it is not the same entity as that, because it is not the entity of that. If it is, then the Shuba tree is not a tree, because the tree is the entity of the Shapa tree. Therefore, it is also said, "If it is separated from other things, it will not become a thing, therefore it is said to be different." The second is: did the general appearance of trees arise from the cause of the Shapa tree? Or did it not arise? If it did not arise, then, as the subject of the proposition, it is not the same entity as that, because it did not arise from that cause. This is universal, and here it is also said, "Different arises from different causes." And in the Pramāṇaviniścaya it is said, "If it is established, then it is not established or the cause is different, it is not reasonable to be its nature. The difference of things or the difference of cause is only this, existing in contradictory dharmas or the cause is different. If this also cannot establish difference, then nothing can be separated from anything, therefore it will become one whole." Because of this saying. If it arises, then, as the subject of the proposition, if the cause of the Shapa tree is prevented, then you will be prevented, because you arise from that cause. The third is: when the Shapa tree arises and ceases, does the general appearance of trees arise and cease? Or does it not arise and cease? If it does not arise and cease, then, as the subject of the proposition, it is the same entity as that.
