And, the refutation of the fourteen kinds of divisions of the limbs is divided into two. The first is: "Because the Svātantrika is also the same, Because the sign is absent and the pervasion is contradictory, Because the determination of reversal is not allowed, Therefore, it is not appropriate to divide into four types." It is said that the Svātantrika's argument, its fundamental difference, both the sign and the pervasion are not established, etc., it is reasonable to divide into four types, because it is reasonable in the reductio ad absurdum. If it is said that the Svātantrika's argument, its fundamental difference is divided into two types, correct and seemingly correct, so it is not reasonable to divide into four types. Then, the reductio ad absurdum is also the same, the fundamental difference is divided into two types, correct and seemingly correct, so it is also not reasonable to divide into four types. Also, both the sign and the pervasion are not established, it is not reasonable to put it in the four types of the fundamental difference of the reductio ad absurdum, because if the sign is not established, then the distinction of whether the pervasion is established or not is the behavior of a fool. If it is said that even if the sign is not established, it is possible that the pervasion is established. Then, it is not reasonable, because according to the determination of reversal, half of the sign is not established and half of the pervasion is not established, etc., there is a fault of being endless. The second is: "Dividing the unestablished into two is superfluous, The contradictory reductio ad absurdum seems to be lacking, The sign is absent and the pervasion is established is confusing, Therefore, the reductio ad absurdum is not fourteen." It is said that, apart from the sign being unestablished, it is not reasonable to separately divide the sign and the pervasion into two types, because for those two, it is enough to just use one answer of "the sign is unestablished." The seemingly correct reductio ad absurdum that is answered in the way of contradictory pervasion is lacking. Sound has the property, it should be permanent, because of being produced, such a correct reductio ad absurdum cannot be prevented by an answer. Above the sky, the seemingly correct is seemingly correct because of the reason that the answer is established by acceptance. In addition, the classification of the reductio ad absurdum where only the sign is unestablished is not reasonable, because on one basis, if the sign is unestablished, then the pervasion also becomes unestablished, on sound, permanence is unestablished, so on it, if it is permanent then it is not produced, the pervasion is unestablished, above the sky, the reason for permanence is established, so on it, if it is permanent then it is not produced, the pervasion is established. Here, the great lord said that if the sign is unestablished then the pervasion must also be unestablished, etc., these are all correct reductio ad absurdum,

This is a discussion on the correct consequence. At this time, pervasion is established on the connection between the sign and the property. As stated in the treatises of Dharmakirti, the establishment or non-establishment of pervasion depends solely on whether the connection between the sign and the property is established or not. Considering this, for a correct consequence that establishes the proof, it is necessary to establish both direct and reverse pervasion through valid cognition. However, it is not said that it is necessary to establish real pervasion through valid cognition. Nowadays, some Tibetan debaters claim that there is no difference between "necessary" and "pervasive," but there is a difference between the two. For example, "If it is a rabbit's horn, then it must be a rabbit's horn," but because pervasion is not established for this. This seems to be the view of the treatises. Now this is unpleasant, precisely because it is the view of the treatises. The second part includes definition and classification. The first is the definition of a correct consequence: a consequence statement that can refute the flawed tenets of the opponent by deriving an undesired conclusion from an admitted reason. The second part has three aspects: the correct consequence that establishes the proof, the correct consequence that does not establish the proof, and explaining examples of these. Regarding the definition of the first, some say: "Any correct consequence, if it refutes its own fact, will deduce a reason possessing the three aspects." This statement is unreasonable because the 'Treasury of Reasoning' states: "From the statement of consequence, how can one deduce the meaning of self-nature, and not like refuting?". One's own view is: any correct consequence, if refuted, actually deduces a reason possessing the three aspects. Now some say that one must say "the correct consequence that establishes the proof," otherwise, for an opponent who admits that sound is permanent, the consequence that says "sound, the subject, should be impermanent, because it is produced," that subject, should be that definition, because it is the correct consequence that establishes the proof. Because establishing the proof means that any deduction of the proof is a correct consequence. The previous reason is established, because permanence is the proof that establishes that sound is not produced. From this, it can be shown that if it is a correct consequence, then it is pervaded by the correct consequence that establishes the proof. This is a destruction of the terminology of the treatises.
