Therefore, it is said in the Pramāṇaviniścaya: "There is no limit to wrong answers, so these will not be elaborated here." Third, from the perspective of expression, there are two types: Svātantrika arguments and Prāsaṅgika arguments. The first is the same as the statement of proof, so it has already been explained. The second has two aspects: the nature of consequence and the manner of answering. The first has three divisions: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. The first is further divided into stating the assertion and refuting it. The first is: According to the view of Chapa Chökyi Sengé, the Lord of Reasoning, consequential arguments are divided into fourteen types, and these are further divided into correct and apparent types. The correct types are further divided into those that establish the proof and those that do not, making three types in total. The first is: "Consequences are said to have fourteen types in four, the scholars of Tibet assert it so." Thus, the four fundamental divisions are: neither the sign nor the pervasion is established, only the sign is not established, only the pervasion is not established, and both are established. The first, for example: To a Buddhist, sound, the subject, should be non-measurable, because it is permanent. Like this, neither is established by valid cognition, nor is it accepted. The second: Sound, the subject, should be unproduced, because it is permanent. Like this. The third: Sound, the subject, should be permanent, because it is measurable. Like this. The fourth is divided into: both are established by valid cognition, both are accepted, the sign is established by valid cognition, the pervasion is accepted, the sign is accepted, and the pervasion is established by valid cognition, making four types. The first: To a Buddhist, sound, the subject, should be impermanent, because it is produced. Like this, this is apparent because the statement and answer contradict each other. To someone who accepts sound as permanent, this consequential argument, where both the sign and pervasion are established by valid cognition, and there is a contradiction of acceptance to the proposition, is a correct consequential argument, making two types. The second: Sound is an object of eye consciousness, and to someone who says that whatever is an object of eye consciousness is permanent, sound, the subject, should be permanent, because it is an object of eye consciousness. If one refutes by establishing that sound is impermanent through valid cognition, then a contradiction of valid cognition is introduced to the proposition. If one refutes merely by accepting what is not established by valid cognition, then it is a contradiction of acceptance. If neither exists, then there is no contradiction at all, making three types. The third: To someone who says that whatever is produced is permanent, sound, the subject, should be permanent, because it is produced. Regarding this, there is also whether or not there is a contradiction to the proposition.

It changes into three from the aspect of... The fourth is: For those who say that sound is permanent, sound, the subject is, uncreated, because it is permanent. For this, too, depending on the difference of whether there is refutation or not, it changes into three as before. The second is: As it says, "Seven each are correct and seemingly correct from being able to refute and not being able to refute," among the fourteen fallacies, if both the sign and the pervasion are not established, it is answered by both not being established; if only the sign is not established, it is answered by the sign not being established; if only the pervasion is not established, it is answered by the pervasion not being established. If both are valid cognition, there is no refutation in the proposition, if both are admitted, there is no refutation in the proposition, if the sign is valid cognition and the pervasion is admitted, there is no refutation in the proposition, if the sign is admitted and the pervasion is valid cognition, there is no refutation in the proposition, these four are answered by acceptance, so they are seven seemingly correct ones. If both are valid cognition, there is a refutation of admission in the proposition, if both are admitted, there are two refutations of valid cognition and admission in what is accepted, if the sign is valid cognition and the pervasion is admitted, there are two refutations of valid cognition and admission in what is accepted, if the sign is admitted and the pervasion is valid cognition, there are two refutations of valid cognition and admission in what is accepted, these seven are correct because they cannot be refuted by an answer. The third is: As it says, "Six and a half do not generate, half of the seventh generates," the fallacy where both the sign and the pervasion are valid cognition, and there is a refutation of admission in the proposition, and the pervasion is valid cognition, the sign is admitted, and there is a refutation of admission in the proposition, these two do not generate a correct proof, because in the own-system, the property of the subject is not established. The two correct fallacies where both the sign and the pervasion are established by admission, the two correct fallacies where the sign is valid cognition, and the pervasion is established by admission, these four do not generate a correct proof, because in the own-system, the pervasion of the former two is uncertain, and the pervasion of the latter two is contradictory. Therefore, in the seventh, like admitting that sound is permanent, the fallacy where the subject is established by valid cognition generates a correct proof, like the sound of permanence, like admitting that it is permanent, the fallacy where the subject is not established by valid cognition does not generate a correct proof, so it is said. Second, refuting that, refuting the four fundamental divisions.
