Although it is necessary to possess, any kind of beneficial connection or non-beneficial connection is acceptable, which refers to: Knowing the connection because of it. This is a verse. Third, refuting the dispute: In the Compendium of Categories, it says: Oneself is certain, for others, wanting to generate certainty, the property of the subject and the connection, as well as the thesis and the proof, etc. If it is said that the property of the subject, the connection, and the thesis, from the perspective of the words, contradict the necessity of stating all three. There is no fault, because "stating the thesis with the property of the subject and the connection" is because it is summarized by the meaning of the third case. Its meaning is that the correct argument, through stating the three aspects, states the thesis by meaning, not by the meaning of actually stating the thesis, which is the same as what should be proven. Third, the function of language is: in order to generate the subsequent inference of understanding the thesis in the mindstream of the opponent. So, is this language the direct cause of the subsequent inference? No, because from this language arises auditory perception, from it arises recollection, from it arises subsequent inference. The way in which recollection arises from auditory perception after hearing the argument also has three stages: For those with the property of the subject as a prerequisite, first, the recollection of remembering the property of the subject arises, then the recollection of remembering the general arises, then the recollection of remembering the pervasion on the subject of debate arises, and through it, the wisdom of holding the thesis on the subject of debate arises, which is the subsequent inference itself. For those with pervasion as a prerequisite, first, the recollection of remembering the general arises, then the recollection of remembering the property of the subject arises, and then the way in which the latter arises is as before. Relying on the argument, newly remembering the pervasive relationship on the example will not arise, because it is necessary to have already remembered and not forgotten it before the argument. For arguments with only the property of the subject, and arguments with only pervasion, the first of the previous three recollections has already arisen before the argument, so the way in which the latter arises should be applied separately to the two arguments. Fourth, in the classification, there are three: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. The first is: the assertions of previous scholars such as Chapa, in relation to the fundamental thesis, such as sound is impermanent, the argument will become eight types.

Therefore, for the refuter, the fundamental distinctions are: knowing both pervasion and property of the subject, not knowing both, knowing pervasion but not knowing the property of the subject, and knowing the property of the subject but not knowing pervasion. For the case of not knowing both, it is the inference for others made to prove both; for the third case, it is the inference for others made to prove the property of the subject and show pervasion; for the fourth case, it is the inference for others made to prove pervasion and show the property of the subject. Among them, the first case is: whatever arises occasionally is pervaded by being made, for example, a pot. Sound also arises occasionally, this is the correct argument to prove the property of the subject. Whatever is devoid of the ability to function successively and simultaneously is pervaded by being devoid of being made, for example, space. Permanence is also devoid of the ability to function successively and simultaneously, this is the argument for reverse pervasion. Whatever disintegrates from its own cause without relying on other causes is pervaded by necessarily disintegrating, for example, the last moment of a flame. A pot also disintegrates from its own cause without relying on other causes, this is the argument for subsequent pervasion. These are two correct arguments for proving pervasion. For the third refuter, it will be said: whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, for example, a pot, this only shows subsequent pervasion; whatever is permanent is pervaded by being unmade, for example, space, this only shows the correct argument for reverse pervasion, and it will show the correct argument for proving the property of the subject mentioned earlier. For the fourth refuter, it will be said: sound is made, this only shows the property of the subject, and it will state the correct argument for proving pervasion mentioned earlier. For the case of knowing both the property of the subject and pervasion, it is further divided into: remembering both, not remembering both, remembering pervasion but not remembering the property of the subject, and remembering the property of the subject but not remembering pervasion. Among them, the first case is not the object of stating an argument, because the direct cause for the arising of inference is complete. For the second case, it will be stated: whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, for example, a pot, sound is also made, this is a positive example; whatever is permanent is pervaded by being unmade, for example, space, sound is made, this is a negative example. For the third case, it is the correct argument mentioned earlier that only shows the property of the subject; for the fourth case, it is the one mentioned earlier that only shows pervasion.
