Refutation is unreasonable, because all that should be refuted is contained in the previous four, and other than that, they are not objects of refutation. The third part has three aspects: distinguishing from the perspective of person, necessity, and mode of expression. First, there are six modes of expression for three people. That is, for the previous debater, there are two ways: establishing the entity of meaning and eliminating erroneous speech. For the refuter, there are two ways: questioning intention and stating erroneous speech. For the witness, there are two ways: subsequent statement and distinguishing speech, totaling six. The second part has two: establishing one's own intention is establishing speech, and refuting others' intention is refuting speech. The first part has two: correct establishing speech and seemingly establishing speech. The first part has four aspects: definition, the way of combining speech, the function of speech, and distinction. First, the definition of inferring for others can also represent this, because it has been said before. Second, there are three types: negation, affirmation, and abandonment. First, there are two types: negating the views of the ancients and negating the views of the Gangdis people. The first is to combine speech into a structure with five parts, as follows: sound is impermanent because it is created. For example, like a pot. The pot is created, and so is sound. Therefore, sound is impermanent. That is, expressing commitment through "sound is impermanent," expressing reason through "because it is created," expressing example through "for example, like a pot," expressing application through "the pot is created, and so is sound," and expressing conclusion through "therefore, sound is impermanent." This is unreasonable because it is expanded speech, and the universality is not fully expressed, and the three of commitment, application, and conclusion are redundant. Some say that according to the view of the "Treasury of Reasoning," if speech does not express universality, then sound being created means that sound is impermanent, but if being created does not mean impermanent, then in order to prevent it, if speech does not express being created means impermanent, then it should be inferred that it is impermanent because it is created, then the universality of "because it is created" will not become a direct contradiction. For this, there are two situations: not understanding the meaning of the previous party, and refutation not applying to others. First, the view of the "Treasury of Reasoning" is not as you say, and the speech does not express that sound being created means impermanence either.

Therefore. The second is, if it is admitted that whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, then it is not pervaded by actual statement, just as the dissimilar conjunction of the proof statement that establishes sound as impermanent by the reason of being made, although it is admitted that whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, it is not actually stated. Therefore, the meaning of the incomplete universal statement is that the similar conjunction of the proof statement that establishes sound as impermanent by the reason of being made is correct, because whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence. Like this, it must be actually stated, but it is incomplete. The second is, some Tibetans say, "Because there is smoke in some places even for those with two branches," and "Sound is also made," etc., using the third case, and "Because there is smoke in some places," and "Sound is also made," etc., using the fifth case is unreasonable, because such incomplete statements will lead to the thesis, so it must be said "Because there is smoke, there is fire," and "Because it is made, it is impermanent," etc. If at that time it is not necessary to state the thesis, because it is understood through meaning, if it is thought that it is understood through meaning, then even if it is understood through meaning, the power of that word is not complete, so it must be asked again, "Because there is smoke, what? Because it is made, what is it?" If the opponent's statement is incomplete, then the opponent's statement intervenes, which is the speaker's fault, as stated in the "Rules of Debate." The second, the self-system is, the method of applying to a foolish debater, and the method of applying to a wise debater. The first is, for a foolish debater who remembers the pervasion on the example but cannot remember the universal pervasion, it is necessary to use a two-branched proof statement with few words and broad meaning, because it must generate the memory of all three modes. Therefore, the foolishness mentioned here refers to those who, although they have determined through the power of valid cognition that whatever is made on the pot is pervaded by impermanence, cannot remember that whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, and does not refer to those who do not understand the pervasion relationship on the example, because if they do not understand the pervasion relationship on the example, then saying "like a pot" is unnecessary. If it is thought that even if the pervasion relationship on the example is understood, it is still stated, that is also not correct, because stating it cannot be an example, if there is no fault because of forgetting, then, precisely because of this, it is not an example, as it is said.
