Therefore, for such a refutation, it is necessary to have two limbs of speech, but it is not necessary to have either a concordant connection or a discordant connection, because actually stating either of the two will also give rise to the remembrance of the other. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures: "If one knows the connection, by stating either of the two, through the understanding of the meaning, a correct remembrance of the other will also arise." Therefore, for this, there is no difference in establishing either a concordant connection or a discordant connection, and there is no difference in establishing either a subject-property-preceded or a pervasion-preceded, because all of these can generate the memory-consciousness of remembering the three aspects in the same place on the subject of debate. The auto-commentary of the Treatise on Reasoning says: "The statement of proof is the speech that makes the other understand what they have not understood, or, although they understand the subject-property and the pervasion alternately, it is the speech that makes them remember what they have not remembered in the same place." Therefore, alternately understanding the subject-property and the pervasion is like determining that sound is produced, and determining that a pot is pervaded by impermanence. Remembering in the same place is remembering that sound itself is produced, and that what is produced is pervaded by impermanence. If you ask: Then, is it not contradictory to have previously promised that it is impossible to remember the three aspects simultaneously? You who outwardly display the appearance of inner dullness, please listen carefully. Remembering the three aspects in the same place on sound, and remembering them simultaneously, are completely different in meaning. Remembering in the same place is remembering that sound is produced, and also remembering that what is produced on sound is pervaded by impermanence. These two are remembered in the same mental continuum, uninterrupted by other knowledge, it is merely remembering, and by that alone, it is not established that the two are remembered simultaneously. Otherwise, there will be no remembrance of sound being produced and impermanent in the same place, because it is impossible for sound to be remembered as both simultaneously. If it is not established, is it one main mental conception that remembers the two simultaneously, or are it two main mental conceptions of different entities that remember the two simultaneously? If it is like the first case, then, therefore, whatever is the pervasive dharma, by whom it is understood, it cannot be done by another, therefore, they exist separately. Etc.

The chief lords of the logic of the great earth lords will be prevented. According to the latter, one person will become many different continuums. Considering this, the 'Rig Gter Rangdrel' says: In the case of self-benefit, two discriminations cannot enter simultaneously, so it is impossible to remember the three modes simultaneously. In the case of benefiting others, as mentioned before, the three modes can be remembered in a unified way. For both those with the probandum preceding and those with pervasion preceding, it is necessary to add a concluding word. For example, for those with the probandum preceding, it is like many pots. 'Like a pot,' this is adding the concluding word to the pervasion. For those with the pervasion preceding, some places also have smoke. 'Sound is also produced,' this is adding the concluding word to the probandum. Secondly, the way to apply it to the wise is: when one knows the pervasion relationship on the example, for the wise who remember the general pervasion and speak it out, like 'then sound is also produced,' even just stating the probandum is sufficient. If the pervasion is not stated verbally in the assembly, even if one has become wise, at that time one must state the complete argument. Because incompleteness will lead to criticism. As it is said in the 'Pramanavarttika': For inference for the sake of others, the faults and merits of language are the main thing, not the meaning. Because if the meaning is not stated as it is, it will lead to the speaker being criticized. It seems that this is how it is understood. Similarly, for the wise who remember and speak out the probandum, there is also the argument language that only states the pervasion, because it is the same as the former. In the 'Rig Gter Rangdrel', the application of these scriptures is: 'The example has its own nature,' etc. Its meaning is like this: 'The example has its own nature, and not knowing those causal things, showing,' etc., this is not showing the argument language, but showing the valid cognition that establishes the pervasion relationship on the example. By showing that, when one knows the pervasion relationship on the example, there are two kinds of people: the wise who can remember the general pervasion without relying on the argument language, and the foolish who cannot. For the first kind, just stating the probandum can generate inference, for the wise, it is enough to just state the reason. For the second kind, the two limbs of language
