Therefore, having this characteristic of substance, it is not merely something other than that which is intended to prove the visible nature, but is not a particularity. Therefore, it is not possible to eliminate it. If it is eliminated, then only the self-nature of the dharma itself will be eliminated, but not its particularity. Here, it is intended to eliminate the particularity of the dharma as well. Therefore, this is said to be achieved by eliminating the particularity. In the case of the second commitment, some scholars consider that in "the part-possessor is other than the parts," the part-possessor is taken as the subject, and in "the parts are other than the part-possessor," the parts are taken as the subject. According to the latter, the visible third part is the self-nature of the subject, and the visible is the particularity of the subject. However, by pointing out the harm to the visible, the harm to the particularity of the subject is not taken as the basis, but by pointing out the harm to the fact that it is a substance other than the part-possessor, the harm to the particularity of the dharma is taken as the basis. Gyalwang Lo said: In the explanation of "the parts are not other than the part-possessor," "the parts are not other than the part-possessor" is the elimination of the particularity of the subject. "The parts are other than the part-possessor" is the commitment. Here, the parts are the subject, and their otherness is the dharma to be proven. Some of them are also considered by the opponent to be the particularity of the visible. If they exist in the manner of otherness, then because they will not appear different from it, this is not reasonable. If it exists in the manner of otherness, then what does not appear different from what, that is not visible, just like the parts of the first part that is not the subject. When the parts also exist in the manner of otherness, they will not appear different from the part-possessor opponent. "Because the pervasive is not observed" is said, but if so, it has not harmed the particularity of the subject, so it is somewhat unreasonable. Therefore, the visible parts are the self-nature of the subject, and the substance different from the part-possessor is the particularity of the subject, which will be explained in detail later. This is also consistent with taking the part-possessor as the subject, because the previous third part is the common basis of the parts and the part-possessor.

However, the difference lies in that when a part is posited as the subject of a property, it is considered a substance different from the whole; and when the whole is posited as the subject of a property, it is considered a substance different from the part. Some Tibetan scholars believe that when a part is posited as the subject of a property, it is not a substance different from its own part. However, in that case, is the whole not the whole created by itself, but rather the same as the first whole made into the second part? Gyalwang Lo (རྒྱལ་དབང་བློས།) said, "From that opposite whole," and in effect, the whole is considered a substance different from the part, because it is the same as before. In the case of the third pledge, some argue that a whole that possesses the three characteristics and is a substance different from its own parts is the nature of the subject of the property, and because it shows harm to it, it is considered to harm the nature of the subject of the property. However, this is not reasonable, because for something that possesses the three characteristics and is a substance different from all the parts, the first two reasonings have already shown the harm sequentially, so here it is a case of showing harm only to the nature of the substance. The self-system is that here, only the substance is the subject of the property, and that which serves as the basis for qualities and other meanings is its nature, because the Vaibhashikas hold that its meaning is the opposite. In short, if one understands how the first three reasonings sequentially show harm to the three characteristics, the substance different from the parts, and the opposite of the meaning of the substance, then all the key points will be naturally resolved. The meaning of the fourth pledge will be explained below. Second, showing the reasoning that harms it is divided into two: general presentation and separate explanation. First, Lha Shakya (ལྷ་ཤཱཀ་) said, "It is harmed by five: inference, commitment, self-statement, direct perception, and fame," and Gyan (རྒྱན།) said, "It is harmed by four: inference, commitment, self-statement, and fame," and Yama Ri (ཡཱ་མ་རིས།) said, "It is harmed by four: inference, commitment, direct perception, and self-statement." Among these three views, the first view is the intention of the treatise, because in the case of "the scale will become low," it shows the way of harming by inference, and in the case of "shapes are like excess and excess weight," it shows the way of harming by direct perception, and in "the remaining commitment self-statement etc.," there is the way of harming by commitment and self-statement, and the way of harming by fame must be extracted from "etc." In the Sutra it says: "Of the Dharma"
