In short, it is for the purpose of understanding that faith brings about elimination with respect to views such as the Lokayata's belief that there are no past or future lives and that inference is not a valid means of knowledge, and the Vaisheshika's belief that there is no being who knows all things. The second part is divided into three aspects: the eliminator, the eliminated, and the manner of elimination. The first aspect is: In general, faith has five aspects: the person of faith, the word, the sign, the inference, and the object. The first aspect is: The Buddha Bhagavan, who is endowed with all qualities and has exhausted all faults, is real, because the Ornament says: "As long as faults are not exhausted, he is not a person of faith." Therefore, the opponent who accepts this reason as a valid means of knowledge is also included in it. The second aspect is: The teachings spoken by the Buddha Bhagavan are real, because the same scripture says: "One who has exhausted faults will not speak false words, because there is no cause." Therefore, the words spoken by the opponent who accepts this reason as a valid means of knowledge are also included in it. The third and fourth aspects have already been discussed. The fifth aspect is: For example, happiness arises from practicing generosity and so on, and there is a valid means of knowledge that has a measurable meaning. Thus, among the five aspects, the object is the direct eliminator, and inference is the indirect eliminator, because the object directly eliminates the opposite side depends on inference, and the inference of faith depends on the correct sign of faith, and the correct sign must also be a word that has become a sign of teaching, and its similar example requires pure self-speech, which in turn depends on the person worthy of faith. The second part is divided into two types: contradiction with commitment and contradiction with self-speech. Regarding the difference between these two, the former scholars considered it unreasonable to say that it contradicts the teachings of faith and contradicts the opponent's own words, because each of these two requires distinguishing these two situations. Therefore, the object of attachment to a promise that was previously made but later broken is a contradiction with the commitment, such as the object of attachment to a promise that practicing generosity and other virtues will not produce happiness. This word is a contradiction between what is expressed earlier and later, because by promising that generosity and so on are virtues, it is admitted that happiness will arise, but later it is promised that happiness will not arise.

Furthermore, the term "Mo sham mo" also contradicts the commitment because of the contradiction between the prior and later commitments. The expressed content of that term itself, directly and indirectly contradictory, is contradictory to one's own words. For example, the adherence to a vow that there is no valid cognition with a meaning to be measured. That term is directly and indirectly contradictory to one's own words, because it directly states that there is no valid cognition of the measurer and the measured, and indirectly admits that it is one's own pure word, so it admits that there is a valid cognition that understands the expressed meaning. Therefore, classifying these two terms as divisions of speech from the perspective of contradictory prior and later commitments and directly and indirectly contradictory expressed content is the intention of the scholar. The Pramāṇavārttika states: "Then what difference is there in these meanings? There is none at all. Then how are they expressed separately? It will change in that way by the division of speech. Because what is established by the former is destroyed by the latter, it is contradictory to the commitment. Therefore, it is said to be contradictory to what was previously committed." That speech itself contradicts its own meaning, which is contradictory to one's own words. For example, it is like saying, "Inference is not a valid cognition." Its meaning is stated in the Rigs gter: "Among them, there are two: commitment and one's own words. Others say they are scripture and one's own words. Scholars consider it a division of speech." Third, it is divided into four: the system that considers scripture to be a harmer, the system that considers scripture to be an obstacle, the system that considers both to exist, and the identification of one's own system. The first is that some disciples of Dignāga say that pure scripture is a harmer that contradicts the adherence to a self-contradictory vow, because one must accept scripture as valid cognition in order to establish generosity and so on as dharma. Establishing generosity and so on as dharma is established from the perspective of generating happiness in the future, because it is established only through pure scripture, because it is extremely obscure. Therefore, the happiness that arises from practicing generosity and so on harms the non-arising of happiness from practicing it, because the two are directly contradictory, and the former is established by valid scripture. The arising of happiness from practicing generosity and so on and the non-arising of it from practicing it are not obstacles, because the meaning of an obstacle is that on one established basis, there are contradictory qualities of equal strength.
