Therefore. Merely stating that external objects are the objects of measurement does not establish the view of the Mind-Only school, because they also acknowledge that external objects are objects of measurement in conventional terms. It is also unreasonable to consider the newly arising, non-deceptive apprehended aspect as a valid cognition, because this is the occasion to establish non-deception and realization as the established, and to establish their proof, not the occasion to establish other established by using it as the proof. The view that if examined, it is self-awareness, but if not examined, it is the fruit of object-awareness, is also unreasonable, because in that case, self-awareness being the fruit becomes incidental, and object-awareness being the fruit becomes the main thing, which contradicts the direct statement of the third of the measure and fruit. If you say, then it contradicts the statement, "Even if it is self-awareness, it also acknowledges object-awareness," it is not, because that treatise is only to eliminate the dispute that the two, measure and fruit, are different objects, and not to explain the fruit here. Fourth, there are five views, the first is: Some people think that there are two kinds of measure and fruit, conventional and ultimate, the first is: the object is the object of measurement, the apprehended aspect with the aspect of the object is the measure, the object-awareness is the fruit, because the object is considered to be the object of measurement itself. Because it is said so. It is not that there is no difference from the Sautrantika school, because they acknowledge the external object and the knowledge that knows it when examining, but here they acknowledge the external object and the knowledge that knows it when not examining. The second is: Because there is no external object, the knowledge's own nature is the object of measurement, the grasping aspect that completely determines it is the measure, and the self-awareness that experiences it is the fruit, it is unreasonable to say so, because those two, measure and fruit, are not the measure and fruit of the direct statement of the third of the measure and fruit, because in the direct statement, the external object is the object of measurement, the apprehended aspect is the measure, and the self-awareness is the fruit. The second view is: Some people think that it is unreasonable to take the external object as the object of measurement here, because in the Mind-Only school's own view, does the external object exist or not? If it exists, then the Mind-Only school will not acknowledge that the apprehended and the apprehender are empty, because they are different entities; if it does not exist, then that kind of establishment of measure and fruit is not reasonable, because the measure will harm the object of measurement. Combining with the Sautrantika school is also unreasonable, because here blue is the object of measurement, one's own

Because the blue cognition that has become its own nature is said to be the result. Therefore, the establishment of measure and result is that blue is the object to be measured. The appearance of blue that has become its own nature arises, therefore that is the perceived aspect as measure. The blue cognition that has become its own nature is the result. For such an establishment of measure and result, thinking that self-cognition and self-reflection have been established as the result, three doubts will arise. If the previously appearing root consciousness cognition is the result, then the grasping aspect that completely cuts it off is the measure, and the grasping aspect will become the measure. If the grasped aspect is the measure, then the grasped aspect engages with external objects, and self-cognition engages with the essence of consciousness itself, so the two measures and results will engage with different objects. Previously, blue was the object to be measured, and in the first measure and result, blue cognition was said to be the result, but here self-cognition is said to be the result, which is contradictory. If self-cognition and self-reflection are said to be the result, then the grasping aspect must be established as the measure, because self-cognition is only caused by the grasping aspect, and not by anything else. However, because the object cognition that has become its own nature is the result, it can be established by the grasped aspect, because the appearance of the object arises in it. The two measures and results will also not engage with different objects, because the measure cuts off the object that has become its own nature, and the result also cognizes the object that has become its own nature. It is not contradictory with the first measure and result, because there, in order to know the trace of the previously appearing root consciousness, the definite understanding of thinking "I know blue" is generated, and blue cognition is said to be the result for the sake of knowing. And here, in the mind of thinking about the situation, in order to know that the blue cognized by the previously appearing root consciousness is the essence of consciousness itself, blue cognition that has become its own nature is said to be the result, so it is said. It is not reasonable, because for the blue object to be measured, because the blue cognition that has become its own nature is said to be the result, it is said that it is not the view of the Sutra School, which is also not reasonable, because the Sutra School also believes that if not examined, object cognition is the result, and if examined, self-cognition is the result, because for consciousness, the appearance that appears in its own time is considered to be the essence of consciousness itself. The arising of the blue appearance that has become the essence of consciousness itself is made into a measure.
