Because of the distinction, it is not possible to agree, because the apprehended aspect is established from the way it understands the external, distant object from itself, because it is established without regard to the apprehending aspect. Because it is not another meaning, in the external, one should not rely on the apprehending subject, as it is said. Furthermore, all other cognitions should be self-cognition, because all apprehended aspects are apprehending aspects. Some say that the apprehended aspect is the object to be measured, the apprehending aspect is the valid cognition, and self-cognition is the result. This valid cognition and result is the main subject to be taught in the second of valid cognition and result, and it is the unique valid cognition and result of the Mind-Only school. This is not reasonable, because the Sutra school also accepts it. As it is said: "This should be applied to all." And from the Treatise on Reasoning: "Among them, the self-cognition valid cognition and result, the terminology and philosophical tenets are mostly the same." So it is said. If asked: Then, is there a contradiction between the valid cognition and result that Master Dharmottara said at the time of the second valid cognition and result, and the valid cognition and result of the true aspect in the Treatise on Reasoning? There is no fault, because in the Mind-Only school's system, when establishing the valid cognition and result of sense consciousness, there is no object to be measured other than the apprehended aspect. In the Sutra school's system, at that time, there is an external object to be measured other than the apprehended aspect, so it is because it is the valid cognition and result that intends the apprehended aspect, which does not have an external object, as the object to be measured. Some say that the blue that has become the nature of knowledge is the object to be measured, and after its appearance, the knowledge that is new and not deceptive to it is the valid cognition, and the result of valid cognition is the actual realization of it. This is not reasonable, is the blue that has become the nature of knowledge the apprehended aspect of the blue-grasping sense perception, or is it not? If it is not, then it has not become the meaning of the apprehended aspect being the object to be measured here. Furthermore, that phenomenon should be an external object, whatever blue that has become the object to be measured of the blue-grasping sense perception, because it is not a definite object of focus simultaneously with it. Both signs are accepted. If it is the apprehended aspect, then the blue-grasping sense perception, the blue that has become the nature of knowledge, should not be the cause of generating the image for you, because you and it are the same substance. The negated sign is accepted. Also, is the blue-grasping sense perception self-cognition or other-cognition to it? If it is the former, then it contradicts its appearance, if it is the latter, then the blue-grasping sense perception has become the nature of the blue-grasping sense perception.

Then, for the cognition of blue, it becomes other-cognition. Because this has been promised. If admitted, then it becomes direct perception of it. Because this has been admitted. If admitted, then, this dharma, for its own essence, becomes self-cognition direct perception. Because this has been admitted. If admitted, then, this dharma, for the blue that has become its own nature, becomes non-other-cognition. Because for its own essence, it is self-cognition direct perception. Secondly, in the "Treasure of Reasoning Self-Commentary," it says, according to the Mind-Only School's view: The apprehended, the apprehender, and consciousness, although not truly existent, are measurable, the measurer, and the result, are established as they appear. As it is said. For the aspectarians, what appears as the apprehended is the measurable; what appears as the apprehender is the valid cognition; the nature of self-cognition is considered the result, just as experiencing the pleasure and pain of the measurable and the result of valid cognition, they consider it to be one in time and essence. For the non-aspectarians, the false imputation that appears as meaning is the measurable; the knowledge that grasps it is the valid cognition; the nominal self-cognition is considered the result, therefore, the measurable and the result of valid cognition, like the appearance of hair and so on, are considered to be prohibited from being one. As the meaning of what is said. Generally, taking the apprehended aspect as the measurable, both the Sutra School and the Mind-Only School acknowledge the valid cognition and the result. However, there are different distinctions in the apprehended aspect. The Sutra School considers that the aspect that arises from the external object is the apprehended aspect. The Aspect-True Mind-Only School considers that even without an external object, due to the power of habit, knowledge itself appears as the apprehended, and this is the apprehended aspect. Therefore, the Aspect-True Mind-Only School takes it itself as the measurable, thereby completely cutting off its apprehender aspect as the valid cognition, and experiencing its self-cognition nature, considers it the result. Taking the apprehended aspect as the measurable, the valid cognition and the result are also related to the Aspect-True Mind-Only School, because the apprehended aspect in the case of the two, the valid cognition and the result, even without an external object, due to the power of habit, knowledge itself appears as the apprehended aspect of the apprehender and the apprehended. Here it says: The destruction of something is the cause of the complete awakening of the habit of something, therefore, the mind's determination of the aspect does not depend on the external object. Because it is said so. For the non-aspectarians, the apprehended aspect that appears as meaning is the imputed measurable; the knowledge that truly grasps it is the valid cognition; the nominal self-cognition that appears to experience it is considered the result. The knowledge that truly grasps it is the imputed apprehended aspect itself.
