Because it is not earth. It is also unreasonable to consider that characteristic to be a meaning that possesses the same meaning and three distinctions, although it is reasonable for the two, 'actually arising from blue' and 'the appearance of blue,' to be the first two distinguishing features, it is unreasonable for the newly non-deceptive apprehended aspect of blue to be the meaning of the latter distinction. Secondly, there are three: namely, the establishment of the apprehended and apprehender of the two Hearer schools, the uncommon commitment of the Sutra school, and the actual valid result that is appropriate to the occasion. Firstly, regarding the system of the Vaibhashikas, as it says in the Essence of Wisdom, Collected from All: 'Space and cessation are both pure, the three unconditioned are permanent, conditioned things are all empty of self, there is no maker, they are momentary, the mind born from the eye is without aspects, manifest consciousness is a collection of dust, the wise are called Kashmiris, the Vaibhashika doctrine says so.' The meaning of what is said is: all five objects of knowledge are established as substances, and among them there are two types of substances: permanent substances and impermanent substances. The three unconditioned are permanent substances, and the five aggregates of conditioned things are impermanent. Moreover, it is completely empty of self, because there is no self of a different entity and no self that has become its own nature. There is no maker such as Ishvara, because it arises only from its own cause. It is impermanent because it arises and ceases in an instant. No aspect of the object appears to the sense consciousness, and what is manifestly cognized by the sense consciousness, that is, what appears in its own time, is a collection of dust, that is, the meaning of the external object. According to this system, there are three ways in which an object is apprehended, a subject apprehends, and a subject apprehends an object. The first is the five objects such as form. The second is that all five senses and all mental factors are subjects. The colored sense sees and hears objects, etc., but it is not the sense consciousness that sees objects, etc., because it would follow that one would see even if there were obstacles, etc. The sense consciousness cognizes objects, but it is not the colored sense that cognizes objects, etc., because it would follow that it would be accompanied by discernment. The third is that, like a magnet attracting iron, the sense consciousness apprehends the five objects without aspects, nakedly, simultaneously, and in contact. Therefore, the valid result of this.

Regarding the classification of valid cognition, the reality of objects such as form, which are non-conceptual and in contact, can be measured. The sense consciousness that sees objects and has form is valid cognition. The sense consciousness that understands the nature of objects is the result, so the measure, result, and object of measurement exist simultaneously, and are only different entities. The view of the Sutra school is as follows: As stated in the same text: 'Seeing is not the object of the senses, but consciousness arises with aspects. Space is like the child of a barren woman, and cessation is like space. Conditioned matter is not existent, and the three times are not accepted. The accumulated form is not non-existent,' so say the wise of the Sutra school. The meaning of this is: The external appearance that appears as a distant separation in the external realm seen by sense consciousness at its own time is not the external object that has become the object of sense consciousness, because sense consciousness arises with the aspect of the external object, and is the aspect of the object. Space is apprehended as knowable through the elimination of other concepts, with the clear form of obstruction, but the establishment of its own nature as a permanent thing does not exist, just like the child of a barren woman. The two cessations should also be understood to be like space. The Vaibhashikas assert that the three unconditioned phenomena are permanent entities, but here, if permanence is established merely by eliminating impermanence, then the child of a barren woman would also be permanent. If permanence is established by the establishment of its own nature as a permanent thing, then the three unconditioned phenomena are not permanent either, because if they are established by their own nature, they must be impermanent. Conditioned matter, which is produced after the accumulation of causes and conditions with the thought 'I will produce this result,' is not existent, because matter arises only from the accumulation of causes and conditions. The three times are also not accepted as real, because the present exists as real, but the past and future do not exist as real. However, the accumulated form of particles is not non-existent, because if it is the form that is the objective condition of sense consciousness, then many particles must be accumulated. Secondly, the Sutra school has five uncommon tenets, of which the first tenet is: The direct perception of blue, which appears as a distant separation at its own time, is consciousness, and it is also consciousness that exists as it is, not merely appearing as such. If the external object is hidden, then the aspect that is established according to one's desire appears. The second tenet is:
