The way of establishing the thesis is: When one knows the pervasion relationship on the example, for the wise who remembers the general pervasion and can speak it out, like "Then sound is also produced," it can be established by merely stating the property of the subject. If the pervasion in the collection is not stated in words, even if one is proficient, then one must completely combine the words that can be established at that time. If it is not complete, it will become a fault. As it is said, in the Pramāṇavārttika, it is said: For the inference for the sake of others, the faults and merits of words are mainly considered, not the meaning, because not stating the meaning as it is, it will become a fault for the speaker. Thus, it is shown to be the meaning. Similarly, for the wise who remembers the property of the subject and can speak it out, there is also a proof statement that only states the pervasion, because it is the same as before. Third, refuting the dispute: In the Abhidharmasamuccaya, it is said: Having ascertained oneself, one wants to make other beings ascertain, one should abandon the property of the subject and the relationship, as well as the thesis and the other things to be stated. Thus, separating the property of the subject, the relationship, and the thesis, and saying that all three should be stated, if one says that this contradicts the previous statement, there is no fault, because "the property of the subject and the relationship state the thesis" is the collection of the third different entity, and at that time, the thesis is included in the dharma of the thesis. Third, the function of language is: in order to generate the inference that realizes the thesis in the mindstream of the opponent. Then, is this language the direct cause of the inference? No, because from this language arises auditory consciousness, from auditory consciousness arises memory consciousness, and from memory consciousness arises inference. There are also three stages in the way that memory consciousness arises from the auditory consciousness of hearing the proof statement: with the property of the subject as the antecedent, first arises the memory consciousness of remembering the property of the subject, then arises the memory consciousness of remembering the general pervasion, and then arises the memory consciousness of remembering the pervasion on the subject of dispute, and for this subject of dispute, the wisdom that grasps the dharma to be established is the inference itself. With the pervasion as the antecedent, first arises the memory consciousness of remembering the general pervasion, then arises the memory consciousness of remembering the property of the subject, and then the way the latter arises is the same as before. Relying on the proof statement, newly remembering the pervasion relationship on the example does not arise, the proof

Because it is necessary to remember and not forget before speaking. For the thesis with only the property of the subject and the thesis with only pervasion, the first of the three previous recollections should arise before the thesis, and the way the latter arises should be applied separately to the two theses. Fourth, for the opponent, there are three types due to the difference in intelligence: neither the property of the subject nor the pervasion can be remembered; both have been remembered; can be remembered but not remembered. The former two are not the object of establishing a thesis, because the first cannot generate inference even if a thesis is established, and the second does not need to establish a thesis that has all the real causes of inference. In the third case, among the three cases where both the property of the subject and the pervasion can be remembered but are not remembered, and where the property of the subject is remembered but the pervasion is not remembered, and where the pervasion is remembered but the property of the subject is not remembered, the first has two correct theses of similar connection and dissimilar connection. In the second case, if the property of the subject is stated, then whatever is made is pervaded by impermanence, like a pot, which is stating subsequent pervasion; or whatever is permanent is pervaded by non-made, like space, which is stating reverse pervasion, there are two. In the third case, if the pervasion is stated, then sound is also made, which is a thesis with only the property of the subject, such as establishing that sound is impermanent with the sign of being made. For the opponent, the correct thesis transforms into five, which is the view of Jamyang Lama. Second, a pseudo-thesis has two aspects: definition and division. First, whatever is placed as a thesis is stating a proof that has faults. Second, there are three pseudo-theses: with fault of meaning, with fault of intelligence, and with fault of sound. First, it is stating a reason that does not have the three aspects, for example, sound is apprehended by eye consciousness, which is stating unestablished; if it is measurable, then it is pervaded by non-permanent, which is stating uncertain; if it is made, then it is pervaded by permanent, which is stating contradictory, there are three. Second, even if it has the three aspects, it is stating what the previous opponent himself does not establish, that is, stating that all three aspects are not established, stating that the pervasion is not established, and stating that the property of the subject is not established, there are three.
