Therefore, anything that belongs to either the similar or dissimilar category should be excluded. If both are combined and generalized, there will be neither the property of the subject nor the concomitance. If any one of them is generalized, the other will not exist. The meaning of 'self' is that everything stated in the treatise accepted by the opponent is not the object to be proven in the present context, therefore what the opponent himself desires is the object to be proven in the present context. The distinction of this is: Some people think that everything stated in the treatise is the object to be proven, so even if it is harmed, it is a fault of reasoning and commitment. For example, when proving that 'sound is impermanent' with the reason of 'being produced', if the treatise says that 'sound is the attribute of space', then this will become a fault of reasoning and commitment that contradicts it. The reason for refuting this statement is that the reasoning of the power of things does not depend on the scriptures, and when 'sound is impermanent' is established by the valid cognition of the power of things, no content of the scriptures can harm it. And the inference of the power of things needs to review the content of the scriptures in turn, because when the three states of the object to be measured change, it is to accept the scriptures that do not contradict the reasoning. The meaning of 'only' is that it is not considered both the object to be proven and the means of proof, but only the object to be proven. The distinction of this is: The sound of 'to be explained' covers all three roots. And here, the sound of 'being produced' is the main one, and the self and the wish are its differences, so with the main one accompanying, the two will also appear. In this way, even if the two are not established in the example, because it is too broad, in order to avoid the two also becoming commitments, it is necessary to exclude them. If it is said that because the suffix 'ཀ་ཏ' refers to the present tense, the sound of 'wish' will become the present tense, then there will be no overly broad situation. If you ask this, then in the context of explaining the characteristic of the subject, the root of wish is एष्टव (藏文,梵文天城体,eṣṭava,意为希望的), and for it, in the collection, 'ནིཥྚ' is not a branch, so it cannot exclude the content to be explained in the future. In the gate of reasoning, 'ནིཥྚ' is a branch, so it can be excluded, it is said. In the order of the five limbs, in the collection, the self is mentioned first relative to the wish, in order to combine the wisher with the self, that is, 'the opponent himself wishes'. And in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, the reason for saying the opposite is that when the meaning of wish is shown as the object to be proven at the time of wishing, the opponent accepts

If the opponent wants all the arguments that are put forward, will they become the object of proof at the time? No, it is to understand the meaning of needing to admit one thing to be proved by oneself. This principle also applies to this system of discourse. In the self-commentary, the meaning of "to be proven" is: "Or, what is to be proven by reason," so the abbreviation of the words will not be in conflict. In this way, by relying on reason, it should be proven in the object of eliminative cognition that has become the object of proof. This applies to both self-interest and other-interest to be proven. That is, because seeing that sound is impermanent, in manifestation, sound presents itself in its own way, so there is no need to prove it with reason. However, for the subsequent inference of understanding it, it needs to be proven with a reason that has three aspects. Similarly, what arises from sound is also to show the intention of manifestation. It is said that the word "show" is used to refer to the reason and all the things to be proven. Or, because "or" is a selective word, just like considering the word "aspect" as part of the proof statement, just like considering that it should be actually shown through the proof statement, here also, first actually state what is to be proven, and then in the gateway of the proof statement, it should be shown in the object of measurement. In this way, it only applies to the object of proof in the case of other-interest. In the self-commentary of the "Treasury of Reasoning," it says: "If the word aspect is not the prover, then proof is unreasonable." This is not contradictory, even if you want to verbally express what is to be proven, you should also show something that does not involve the four exclusions. Just like it is said in the "Pramanavarttika": "If it is allowed to be shown," just like it is said like this. By saying this, it can be understood. The meaning of unexcluded is not involving the four exclusions. Its distinction is that because it is not possible to admit something involving the four exclusions as something to be proven, it is to exclude it. Second, proving one thing relative to complete exclusion is: In the "Door of Reasoning" it says: "What is wanted to be proven is the aspect." Following this statement, the definition of aspect is: It is precisely what is admitted to be proven. Similarly, in some texts of the "Door of Reasoning" it says: "What will be considered as something that needs to be proven, which has not been excluded by contradictory meaning, that is also the aspect." Just like it appears, admitting what is to be proven
