Those aspects that become faults due to not being established in one aspect are all included in the reason's own nature not being established. Those aspects that become faults in relation to philosophical tenets are all included in the subject of the thesis or the reason's own nature not being established. Second, regarding the uncertain reason, there are three aspects: definition, classification, and the meaning of each example. First, the definition: Whatever is taken as a reason by the opponent, the reason that is uncertain in either the correct or reversed way of pervasion for the subject of the thesis. Second, there are three aspects to the way it changes into two: the reason for its establishment, refuting disputes, and becoming examples and subjects of dispute. First, an uncertain reason that does not apply to anything other than the subject of knowledge is a non-common reason; when it applies to others, it is a common reason. Second, some say, how does it apply to things other than the subject of knowledge? Does it apply to other negations, or does it apply to other substances? According to the first view, the non-common reason for establishing that audible sound is impermanent is not established, because the negation of audible sound applies to other drum sounds, etc. According to the latter view, the emptiness of action, the emptiness of moments, the non-common reason for establishing that things that can perform functions are empty is established, because it does not apply to substances other than the emptiness of moments. If you think so, then neither of these two views is correct, because the object to be taken as a reason, other than the subject of knowledge, is common if it can be determined to be either a similar or dissimilar instance, and it is established as non-common if it cannot be determined. Third, there are two ways in which different entities become examples and subjects of dispute, and ways in which the same entity becomes an example and subject of dispute in the way of applying exclusion of others. The first is like the mountain when establishing fire and impermanence, and sound is the subject of dispute, and pots and vases become examples. Second, there are two types: changes depending on whether the name is established or not, and changes depending on the general and the specific. The first is: the negation of a pot is the subject of the thesis, and it can be a name for exclusion of others, because it is something that should be applied by cutting off contradictory things, like the negation of impermanence. The second has two types: the extent of pervasion is: the mere object of knowledge is the subject of the thesis, it is without self-nature, because it is separated from the true one and many, like the object of knowledge that is non-existent.

If the general and the particular are disputable and examples can be established, then using the characteristic of being audible to prove that sound is impermanent, if only sound is the dispute, and the sound of a drum can be taken as an example, is it the same? It is not the same, because on top of the non-existent knowable, the previous pervasion is certain, but on top of only the knowable, it is uncertain. On top of the drum sound, the pervasion of impermanence by the audible is certain, but it is impossible for it to be uncertain on top of only the sound, because the valid cognition that holds only the knowable does not establish one and many as separate, and the valid cognition that holds only the sound establishes the audible. Similarly, sound as the subject, is impermanent, because it is not made by sound, like the sound of a drum. This is also a particular that becomes an example. The second is equal pervasion, direct perception as the subject, is knowledge, because it turns away from matter and arises as the nature of awareness, like self-awareness direct perception. When this is stated, direct perception is the dispute, and self-awareness becomes the example. In short, if there is a difference between being established and not being established in the mind from the perspective of excluding others, then whether it is substance and reverse, or general and particular, or definition and defined, it is acceptable, whichever is easier to establish in the mind is taken as an example, and the difficult one becomes the dispute, all of these should be understood in this way. The third is divided into two: the uncommon certainty and the common uncertainty. The definition of the first is: an uncertain reason, which the proponent who has become the reason has not seen in any of the similar or dissimilar classes. Classification: not seeing because it is not in both the similar and dissimilar classes, not seeing even though it is in both, not seeing even though it is in the similar class, not seeing even though it is in the dissimilar class, these four are in order: sound as the subject, is impermanent, because it is audible. And, this person as the subject, is reborn from the realm of the gods, because he has eyes. And, in front of the proponent who believes that sound is permanent, sound as the subject, is impermanent, because it is made, like the sound of the Vedas. And, space as the subject, is permanent, because it is not made, like the sound of the Vedas. The definition of the second is: an uncertain reason, which the proponent who has become the reason has seen in any of the similar or dissimilar classes. Classification: the uncertainty of reality
