In order to refute the non-manifestation of nature, and to refute the Samkhya school's view that nature is the proximate cause of the actual existence of sound and things, it is said that the actual result is manifest but not manifested. The fifth (observing the non-manifestation of reasoning) has three parts: pointing out the opponent, the way to include it in the nature of the sign, and the way to become merely establishing a name. First, for the opponent who sees the opposite meaning but cannot remember the name, it is said to be directed at a very ignorant person, because this is a very ignorant meaning. As it is said: "Although the object exists, it is ignorant, and others are not mentioned here, but only the name is remembered by establishment and agreement." Also, as it is said in the Treatise on the Treasury of Reasoning: "For the ignorant, there must be a syllogism that establishes the name of remembrance." Second, all the reasons for the non-manifestation of nature, although they appear to be refutations on the surface, ultimately belong to the nature of the sign, because they ultimately conclude that the reason for being able to produce results from the sign of complete causes and conditions. As it is said: "Because the cause establishes the result, this is included in the nature." Therefore, it is said in this way. How is that so? For example, it is said: The object of pure holding, the subject, is able to produce the name of definitely not having a vase, because it is the measure of holding the pure place of the vase. This is the same as the previous point of view from the perspective of the agent. Nowadays, it is generally considered unreasonable to explain the meaning of this treatise as definitely producing results from the cause of establishing distinctions. Because this alone is not enough to determine the nature of the sign, and the scriptures such as "experiencing from one condition" in the Chapter on Other Meanings would become meaningless. Third, although the opposite meaning of the absence of a vase is established by the fact that the vase is not seen by the measure, it is only for the purpose of establishing that name for those who do not understand the name of the absence of a vase, so it is established as the reason for merely establishing the name. Second, regarding the reason for contradictory manifestation, there are two types: nature and classification. First, what is the true aspect of the possibility of manifestation but not manifested? That is, on the dharma that one wants to understand, the establishment that can establish the definite absence of the object to be refuted becomes the reason. Second, there is the aspect of contradictory opposition that relies on mutually exclusive contradictions and mutually exclusive contradictions.

Among us two, the first has three aspects: definition, classification, and establishment. First, a valid sign of contradictory perception must rely on mutually exclusive contradiction to ascertain its pervasiveness. Second, there are two aspects: refutation and assertion. The first has two parts: refuting the method of classification and refuting the method of statement. First, some ancient scholars, when individually refuting cold touch, the substantial cause of cold touch, the effect of cold touch causing goosebumps, and its pervasion, such as the touch of water, assert all four: hot touch, the substantial cause of hot touch, the substantial effect of hot touch, and its pervasion, such as sandalwood fire, thus resulting in sixteen. So it is said. Regarding this, it is unreasonable to use the substantial cause of hot touch as a sign to refute the four aspects of cold touch, because the substantial cause of hot touch is the cause that necessarily produces fire in its second moment, so it cannot be determined without determining fire. If what is distinguished by fire is used as a sign, then fire becomes the sign, because it is not like that which becomes the sign. Second, some people apply great force to the object to be refuted, namely, the Vaibhashikas assert that all aggregates are aggregates composed of eight material particles, and the Sautrantikas do not distinguish the difference between what is perceived, namely hot touch and cold touch, which exists, and what is not perceived, which does not exist. Some people apply great force of fire to the reason, namely, when hot and cold become mutually exclusive, the one with greater force cuts off the one with lesser force, and they do not distinguish the difference that the validity of the reason only establishes the absence of the object to be refuted by determination alone, namely, if the small force of fire of the reason is determined by the force of validity, then for that very reason, it is established that cold touch with equal or greater force does not exist. Nowadays, most people say, "Contradiction in meaning occurs in three moments." Therefore, thinking that hot and cold only exist simultaneously in the first moment, and applying permanence to the object to be refuted, is also not understanding the key point that the decisive consciousness drawn from the measure of the subject must determine the pervasiveness, because the harm is eliminated in the third moment. If the subject is determined, then it is established that there is only no harm, because after the harm arises, the third
