Based on what is said at the end of the actions, the reason of non-apprehension is first explained. In the Treasure of Reasoning, too, it appears in this order. Among these, first, the definition and classification of the valid reason of non-apprehension, which are divided into two. The first is: a reason that possesses the three aspects for negating what is to be negated. This is also the definition of a valid negative reason, because the two can be represented by one definition and are synonyms of the signified name. However, the valid reason of non-apprehension is named from the perspective of the establisher, because all reasons of non-apprehension ultimately similarly negate what is to be negated through the means of non-apprehension by a valid cognition of what is to be negated. As it is said, "All negation will be established from non-apprehension." The valid negative reason is named from the perspective of the dharma to be established, because if the dharma to be established is negation, then whatever is presented as the reason, whether negation or establishment, will become a negative reason. To this, some say: What is made is the subject, it is a negative reason, because it possesses that definition, because the negation of permanence on sound possesses the three aspects. To this, that subject, is a valid negative reason, because it is a valid negative reason that establishes that sound is impermanent. The pervasion is accepted. Second is the classification, divided into two types: the non-manifest non-apprehension valid negative reason and the manifest possible non-apprehension valid negative reason. The first is divided into four: definition, example, ascertainment of the three aspects, and the necessity of explanation. The first is: on the basis of the debate, for the dharma to be negated, it is a reason that possesses the three aspects that cannot establish a definite absence but can negate a definite presence. The second is: most Tibetans, on this basis in front of them, the subject, does not allow a decisive cognition that agrees with the meaning of a definite presence of a meat-eater, and does not allow a name that agrees with the meaning, and so on. Recording the words is not distinguishing between the extent of arrangement and the extent of establishment, in that case, for the reason of self-nature non-apprehension, it should also be written: the place purified by a pot, the subject, does not allow a decisive cognition that agrees with the meaning of a definite absence of a pot, and so on, because it is the same in all aspects. Just as "for absence, it does not allow having a result" and "that which is called not allowing to enter," the first reason of the treatise ultimately shows the negation of the name of a definite presence of what is to be negated.

Thus, it is established that sound is known with reason. And, it is merely a reminder of symbols. Because these two lines of reasoning similarly show that ultimately, the term for the definite absence of the object to be refuted is established. Therefore, the faultless way of stating it is that for a person who has become a part of the meaning of eating meat, this basis in front is the subject of the proposition. It is not certain that there is a meat-eater, because a meat-eater is not perceived by valid cognition. This is done by considering the part of nature as the meaning of the part. It should also be applied to the part of place and time. Because in the 'Commentary on Valid Cognition', it is said that all three parts should be included. Third, the aspect of the subject is that in this basis in front, the sensory consciousness of seeing and the self-awareness of experiencing it are established by direct perception. Because the former thinks that this basis in front has been seen, and the latter leads to the definite understanding that a meat-eater has not been seen here. The pervasive relationship is that the valid cognition that sees the meat-eater and the term that definitely exists for the meat-eater are the same in meaning, and the two are determined to be cause and effect, so it is established. Fourth, some other schools, just because they have not seen it on the dissimilar side, establish the opposite of being certain that it does not exist on the dissimilar side, and the materialists claim that there is no body or speech in the intermediate state between past and future lives, and the basis of non-attachment, because it is not seen by direct sensory perception, and the thinkers claim that yogic direct perception is not seen by direct sensory perception, so it does not exist, and this is to refute these. How is it said? The object to be refuted, for those individuals, although it can prevent the term that definitely exists, it cannot establish the definite absence, because those objects to be refuted are the meaning of the part for those individuals. Second, regarding the line of reasoning of not seeing what should be seen, there are two types: nature and classification. The first is that on the object of knowledge, the line of reasoning that can establish the definite absence of the object to be refuted is complete with three aspects. The second has two types, namely, the correct line of reasoning of not seeing the related opposite and seeing the opposite. The first has three types: nature, classification, and establishment. The first is, what is the correct reason for not seeing what should be seen, which is the reason for non-preclusion that becomes the related opposite of precluding the object to be refuted. The second has four types: cause, pervasion, nature, and the correct reason for not seeing the result of things.
