If one engages in refuting and establishing with regard to exclusion of others, one will not realize the own-characteristic, because exclusion of others does not exist as a thing, and one cannot actually refute and establish the own-characteristic. If one says this, there is no fault, because the non-inverted conceptualization of exclusion of others confuses the thing and the exclusion as one, thereby engaging in refuting and establishing, thus one will realize the own-characteristic of the object of entry. The excellent explanation of examining the general and the particular, that is, the third part, is finished. Second, regarding the way of realizing appearance and exclusion, there are two aspects: generally showing the way of entering, and ascertaining the individual own-natures. First, non-conceptual consciousness enters through the appearance of its own object, because merely appearing completes the function. All conceptualizations enter through the exclusion of their own object, because merely appearing does not complete the function, but performs the function of excluding dissimilar types. Thus, of the two, appearance has two types: mistaken and non-mistaken. Exclusion has two types: inverted and non-inverted. The second part has two aspects: actually establishing appearance and exclusion, and incidentally examining exclusion-entry and establishment-entry. The first part has two aspects: appearance and exclusion. The first has two aspects: definition and division. First, it is the difference in the way non-conceptual consciousness sees objects. Second, it is divided into two types: the mistaken appearance of non-conceptual consciousness and the non-mistaken appearance. The definition of the first type is: the apprehended aspect that appears clearly without own-characteristic. If divided, it is divided into two types: the mistaken appearance of sense consciousness and the mistaken appearance of mental consciousness. Second, the non-mistaken appearance of non-conceptual consciousness has three aspects: definition, division, and establishing the definition on the basis. First, the appearance that appears clearly in its own time to the non-mistaken consciousness of non-conceptual consciousness. Second, if divided, it is divided into two types: the appearance of self-cognition direct perception and the appearance of object-cognition direct perception. Third, it is divided into three aspects: the establishment of the object, the way of holding of the mind, and establishing the agreement of mind and object. First, the Vaibhashikas assert that blue and its impermanence are different substances, blue is the aggregate of form, and its impermanence is a non-associated compositional factor. Because these five aggregates are different substances. In the Abhidharmasamuccaya, it is asserted that blue is substantially existent and its impermanence is imputedly existent. But here, on one blue such as lapis lazuli, etc.

And things like being made and impermanence, in reality, let alone different substances, even opposition is not different. The reason why these three appear to be different is only in conceptual thought. Because in non-conceptual consciousness, they appear as one. Meat and cedar, the two, in reality, have no common dharma at all. If it is the substance of meat, it must not be the substance of cedar. If it is the substance of cedar, it must not be the substance of meat. Second, the blue's being made and impermanence, the two, because there is no other substance in reality, they appear as one in the sense consciousness. Because in the blue-grasping sense direct perception, when blue appears, its being made and impermanence, the two, appear as one substance. Meat and cedar, the two, because they are different substances in reality, they appear as different in non-conceptual consciousness. Because at that time, when meat appears, cedar also does not appear. When cedar appears, meat also does not appear. And, when both appear, they appear as different substances. Third, divided into: the common way, reality; establishing its reason for proof; thereby establishing direct perception as uncertain. First, non-conceptual, non-deceptive consciousness, and its object, the external object, the two, object and subject are common. Because if the external object exists as one substance, then it also appears that way. If it is a different substance, then it also appears as a different substance. Second, whatever is a single substance with inseparable essence, direct perception pervades the absence of two parts, seeing and not seeing. For example, when seeing lapis lazuli, just like seeing its blue, the pot and its being made, impermanence, the three, are also a single substance with inseparable essence. Its property is composed of unconditioned reason and harmful reason. The pervasion is established based on the experience of seeing lapis lazuli and seeing its blue. Third, direct perception does not determine its own object. Because it only sees that object, it becomes the measure of that object. As the "Self-Commentary" says: "Now, how is uncertainty grasped by direct perception?" and so on. As the "Compendium on Valid Cognition" says: "Self-awareness, the nature of desire and so on, which is unrelated to speech, is the measure of direct perception." And as the "Drop of Reason" says: "There, the uncommon object of reality, high
