For this reason, will it appear without interruption? If asked: A consciousness that takes form etc. as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, it should appear form etc. without interruption, because the arising of consciousness that takes form etc. as its object is very fast. The third question is: Does sense consciousness simultaneously grasp both the object form etc. and pleasure? First answer: Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, you should not take both form and pleasure as the object to be grasped, because if your object to be grasped is pleasure, then it must be form, and when you are produced, the pleasure that is simultaneous with you has not been established as having function, although there is no pleasure simultaneous with you, your object to be grasped is produced from form. Second answer: If both form and pleasure each act as the object to be grasped? Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, sometimes it should only grasp pleasure, because only pleasure can act as your object to be grasped. For example, blue and yellow each can act as the object to be grasped by sense consciousness as its result, therefore sometimes sense consciousness can only grasp blue. If you admit, then it is not right, because if you do not grasp form, you cannot grasp pleasure. Conclusion: If sense consciousness simultaneously grasps form etc. and pleasure, then eye consciousness that takes form as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, pleasure should not be able to act as your object to be grasped, because you are not produced through the way of pleasure acting as the object to be grasped. The fourth question is: Conclusion: Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, does not take external objects as the object to be grasped, but only takes pleasure as the object to be grasped, if asked: Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, it should not grasp the beautiful colors etc. of beautiful women etc., because it only grasps pleasure as the object to be grasped. This is pervasive, because if you take pleasure as the object to be grasped, you will inevitably not see external objects. The fifth question is: Conclusion: Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, only takes form as the object to be grasped, if asked: Eye consciousness that takes form as its object, has the characteristic of dharma, it will not change the experience of pleasure that is a different entity from itself, because it only takes form as the object to be grasped. Second part: Object: When the object form and pleasure both exist simultaneously, a consciousness will arise that simultaneously experiences both.

If it is said like this, the continuum of a single person should simultaneously experience both happiness and suffering, because the desire and non-desire exist simultaneously. If it is said that because there is only one mind consciousness as the immediate cause, the two, happiness and suffering, will not arise simultaneously. It should follow that the two, happiness and suffering, are not your immediate cause, because you are matter. If it is said that the eye consciousness is the main cause of the two, happiness and suffering, so it is impossible to produce the two contradictory happiness and suffering from one main cause. It should follow that one main cause can produce two contradictory main effects, because a ray of sunlight, for the owl's eye consciousness, is the cause of not being able to see objects, while for the human eye consciousness, it is the cause of being able to see objects. Third, indicating that it itself is what recognizes external objects: It should follow that the feeling of happiness that accompanies the eye consciousness that grasps form is what recognizes external objects, because it is the appearance directed from the object itself. It should follow that the happiness and so on that become one's own nature of discernment are not actually experienced as external objects, because experiencing external objects in the appearance of external objects is merely a designation of experiencing external objects. It should follow that experiencing the appearance of things is said to be experiencing things is a designation, because the appearance directed by things from themselves, becoming one's own nature, is the experience. It should follow that this is the object of external objects, because it is the appearance directed by external objects. Second, refuting that happiness and so on are external material objects, divided into two: stating the opponent's view, refuting it. The first is: Someone, a Samkhya philosopher, says that happiness and so on are the nature of the five external elements, are inanimate matter, and are experienced by other substances besides consciousness, possessing these three characteristics, but are not self-aware. The second is divided into three: refuting that happiness and so on are grasped by others, refuting that happiness and so on are external, refuting that happiness and so on are inanimate. The first is: It should follow that the eye consciousness that grasps form cannot simultaneously act as the object of grasping both form and happiness and so on, because if it is your object of grasping, it must be form. The second is divided into three: appearance can be related to...
