If something is certain to perish from the moment it is established, then it is pervaded by being a real entity. If it is not a real entity, then it is pervaded by not being certain to perish from the moment it is established. The fourth is: Gam! Whatever transforms into the nature of that dharma, not depending on causes other than its own cause, if it is the nature of that dharma, then it is pervaded by certainly being the nature of that dharma. For example, the aggregation of causes for a sprout, the last moment producing the sprout, not depending on other causes. The statement that a vase also transforms into the nature of destruction, not depending on causes other than its own cause, but being the nature of destruction, is the subject. It is an inference for others, because the three modes seen by the opponent's own valid cognition appear at the appropriate time, in order to show the respondent's speech is free from excess and deficiency. Third, finally, there are two praises of the greatness of the treatise: the difficulty of understanding is combined with the example of a river, and benefiting others is combined with the example of the sun. The first is: Blam! The treatise 'Commentary on Valid Cognition' is the subject. It is similar to the continuous flow of a great river, because it first arises from the ocean of glorious Dharmakirti's wisdom, and later it will also dissolve into it. The second is: Tshul! That is the subject. It is similar to the mandala of the sun, because it possesses five characteristics, such as burning the thicket of evil views. Third, the meaning of the conclusion of the complete translation is divided into two: the way in which the author composed it, and the way in which the translator translated it. The first is: The verses of 'Commentary on Valid Cognition', and so on. The second is divided into three: the early translation, the middle translation, and the later translation. The first is: The Indian abbot, and so on. The second is: May he be delighted in the glorious and sacred work. And so on. The third is: Later on the earth, and so on. The grove of lotus flowers of the scriptures of glorious Dharmakirti, from which the flawless and pure sun has unfolded, for this essence with good meaning, sweet taste, may the meaning-seeking bees circle and dwell. May the strings of bad words be passed on one after another, may the boxes of wooden boards be poured out one after another, may the many subtle points be given one after another, having abandoned the three faults, I have explained them properly. By this merit, may whoever obtains the king of power, and the beautiful victory banner of the mind, by that power, rain down the rain of the sacred Dharma upon all beings equal to space, may the desires of joy and happiness spread in all ten directions.
