If someone asks: Non-erroneous sense consciousness, has the property of. Not depending on the second moment of the object of apprehension as a co-emergent condition, because it apprehends only the general characteristic. Third, is: Deṃ. (藏文) Eye consciousness, has the property of. It arises from its own dominant condition, the eye, and the objective condition, form, because its beneficial function changes according to whether it exists or not. Second, to eliminate the dispute between the name and what is signified, it is divided into two: eliminating the dispute over the name of what is signified, and eliminating the dispute over the meaning of the definition. First, the sutra says: Because of the uncommon cause, that name is made by the sense. The explanation of the meaning of this is divided into two: dispute and answer. First, Gaṃla. (藏文) If both sense consciousness and object consciousness arise from both object and sense, then why is it not called object consciousness from the perspective of the objective condition, but called sense consciousness from the perspective of the dominant condition? Second, Goṃ. (藏文) The name sense consciousness, has the property of. It should be applied to the non-erroneous consciousness arising from both object and sense, because the non-erroneous consciousness arising from both object and sense is a name that can understand the uncommon. Because, the necessity of applying this name to the object with conceptualization is that the object is able to understand the uncommon. Deṃ. (藏文) The previous reason, has the property of. It is a correct sign of its own nature, because what is the correct proof about it? Because it is the same in nature as what should be applied to the non-erroneous consciousness arising from both object and sense. Khyabaṃ. (藏文) The name object consciousness, has the property of. It should not be applied to it, because it is not able to understand the uncommon. The second is divided into two: eliminating the dispute hindered by scripture, and eliminating the dispute hindered by reasoning. First, the sutra says: Because it is produced by many meanings, the object of action of its own meaning is the general characteristic. The explanation of the meaning of what is said is divided into two: dispute and answer. First, Basaṃga. (藏文) Sense consciousness, has the property of. It is conceptualization, because it is a mind that takes the general characteristic and the real thing as its object. Accepting this reason, because from your own tenet, the five aggregates of consciousness are those that focus on accumulation, and

Bhīṣmakīṃkara said, "These are the self-characteristics of the sense bases, which are the objects of their own self-characteristics, not the self-characteristics of substances." If it is because accumulation and sense bases are common to both, then, for the second case, there are three refutations: eliminating contradiction with established tenets, eliminating contradiction with the treatises of the wise, and eliminating disputes over the meaning of scriptures. The first is: Doṃ. The meaning of the previous scripture is not referring to the fact that the direct perception of the senses takes the general characteristic of the category as its object, but rather referring to taking subtle differences as the object to be grasped. The second is: Rdul. The meaning of the subsequent scripture is referring to the fact that dharmas are the same, and many atoms do not gather, so the later sense consciousness cannot arise. The third is divided into two parts: dispute and answer. The first part is: Gaṃla. Many atoms, having the property, should not be apprehended simultaneously by sense consciousness, because they are not many atoms of a substance with parts. Therefore, if consciousness apprehends many substances simultaneously, then it must be apprehended sequentially. If one thinks so, then the second part has five refutations: sesame seeds, etc., should not be apprehended simultaneously, calico should not be apprehended simultaneously, rosaries, etc., should not be apprehended simultaneously, one should not know various other things, if one apprehends many things simultaneously, then other things should also be so. The first point is: Tiṃla. Many different kinds of fruits, having the property, should be so. Because it is so. If one sees them sequentially, but because the entry is rapid, it appears as if one is apprehending them simultaneously, if one thinks so, then: Iṃ. For the reason that the entry is rapid, simultaneously apprehending one's own object, having the property, you are unreasonable, because you have already been refuted in the case of "words should also be heard simultaneously." Riṃ. The sense consciousness that apprehends sesame seeds, etc., falling sequentially from the sky, having the property, one's own object should appear simultaneously, because the entry of apprehending one's own object is rapid. Bloṃ. The minds that apprehend objects, having the property, you should not reason the difference between one's own object appearing simultaneously and appearing sequentially, because your entry of apprehending one's own object is rapid. If one admits, then it, having the property, Deṃ. If it is a mind that apprehends objects, then it should pervade one's own object appearing simultaneously, because one admits it so. The second point is divided into two parts: stating harmful faults, eliminating unestablished reasons. The first point is: Phyeṃ. The patterns of calico and wool, etc.
