If it is said like me, then, seeker, you are the subject, from the sound of "vase," it should not be understood as the self-characteristic of the vase, because the sound of "vase" does not express the vase. Answer: There is no fault, because the name of the vase and the self-characteristic of the vase are similar, so they are mistaken as one, thus understood as the vase. If it is said like this, then, seeker, you are the subject, it is not that at any time the name of the vase is mistaken as the vase, but sometimes the vase is mistaken as the name of the vase, etc., this is possible, because these two are misunderstood through similarity. Also, you are the subject, it is not that in any place these two are mistaken as one, but in some places, it is possible to know that these two are different, because of the previous reason. Know! If it is said that this fault also applies to you, then, Sautrāntika, you are the subject, from the sound of "vase," the fault that the seeker will not understand as the vase, you do not have, because you are a wise person who admits that from the sound of "vase" arises a conceptual thought with the image of the vase. Furthermore, Vaibhāṣika, you are the subject, you do not have the previous reason, because according to your view, the image of external objects is also, the mind is without a common basis. If even if there is, then, the image of the vase that appears in the vase-grasping conceptual thought, you are the subject, should not be the apprehended object of the vase-grasping conceptual thought, because there is no valid proof to establish your existence. Know! It is not established, because whatever is a mind, it must be a mind with an apprehended object, if it is said like this, reasonable! But this is not pervasive, because the dream consciousness of dreaming of blue has no apprehended object. If it is said that it arises from the habitual apprehended object, then, you are the subject, it does not arise from the habitual apprehended object, because it appears as the color and shape of blue, etc. If it is said that it arises from the blue self-characteristic as the apprehended object, then, in the dream consciousness, the image that appears as blue in its own time, is not blue, because it is unobstructed. Alright! Therefore, you are the subject, it is a mind, because it is an image that others who are in their own realm do not know, but only the dreamer himself knows. Proof! This is the teaching of the mind of the blue image appearing in the dream.

Furthermore, there is another necessity, which is to show the understanding of the appearance of names and signs that appear in conceptual thought. Mik (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning). Moreover, the reason for believing that eye consciousness is not mistaken and possesses the object to be grasped is what? If it is said that it is because the object to be grasped follows the presence or absence of benefit. Then, the conceptual thought that holds the pot, you do not have an object to be grasped, because your own object to be grasped does not follow the presence or absence of benefit. Second: Connection (འབྲེལཾ). If it is said to be according to the third examination. Then, the person seeking meaning, from the sound of "pot" will not turn to attachment to the pot, because the sound of "pot" does not express the pot. Third: If (གལཾ།) it is according to the second examination. Then, the past and future pot, your name and so on are not the object of expression of sound, because your name and so on do not have things. The second part is divided into two: stating the view, refuting it. First part: Sound (སྒྲཾ). The Vaisheshika says: Although sound directly expresses things, there is no fault of power and so on becoming meaningless, because sound directly expresses the general independent thing, and power consciousness manifests its own characteristics and understands. Second part: It (དེཾ). The sound of "pot", you, by the reason of expressing the general independence of the pot, cannot avoid the fault of power and so on becoming meaningless, because you have not expressed it. Even if it is expressed, the pot is universal, similar to the clarity of the pot and follows, and the arising of the wisdom that holds itself does not depend on the clarity of the pot, because it is independent of the clarity of the pot. If it is admitted, then, it, at the time of the existence or non-existence of the clarity of the pot, will always become an object, because it is independent of the clarity of the pot, and is a permanent dharma that can be an object. If (གལཾ༣།) If it is said that it depends on the clarity of the pot, and it is clear to the wisdom that holds itself. Then, the pot is universal, it will always produce the wisdom that holds itself, because the ability to produce the wisdom that holds itself is a permanent real thing. If it is said that when there is no clarity of the pot, there is no ability to produce the wisdom that holds itself. Then, it, at any time, does not have the ability to produce the wisdom that holds itself, because when there is no clarity of the pot, the wisdom that holds itself.
