Where it is not seen as a cause of suffering. If it is generally seen as a cause of suffering, it does not necessarily follow that one abandons the thought of "mine." Difference. The latter reason is established because a person with the thought of acceptance and rejection is generally detached from the cause of suffering, but a person without the thought of acceptance and rejection is generally seen to generate attachment to the cause of suffering. Second, I (བདཾག, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: , Literal meaning in Chinese). The self in the state of samsara is the subject. It should be destroyed. Because one previously had "mine," one will later become without "mine." If you admit it, it will contradict the admission that I am not destroyed. Experience (མྱོངཾ་, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: , Literal meaning in Chinese). The self in the state of liberation is the subject. It should not be the self as held by the Vaisheshikas, because the basis of experience and so on is contradictory. Third, there are two: the actual establishment and the refutation of faults. First, the one with self-grasping who wants to be detached from "mine" is the subject. Attachment to "mine" will arise because he has self-grasping. Diligence (བརྩོནཾ་, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: , Literal meaning in Chinese). A person who meditates on "mine" as suffering in order to be detached from attachment to "mine" is the subject. Attachment to self is the obstacle to detachment from attachment to "mine," because attachment to self causes attachment to "mine" to arise as it is. Second, if you say that there is no fault because one is also detached from attachment to "I" at the time of liberation. Detachment is the subject. Although one is detached from attachment to "mine," one does not abandon "mine," because although one is detached from attachment to "I," one does not abandon "I," for the same reason. If you admit it, then the seeker of liberation is the subject. It will be meaningless to meditate on "mine" as suffering in order to abandon "mine," because one is detached from attachment to "mine" and does not abandon "mine." Fourth, there are two: the statement of consequence and the refutation of faults. First, that (དེཾ, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: , Literal meaning in Chinese). That is the subject. It should be that, because meditating on "mine" as suffering only makes one know "mine" as suffering, and merely knowing "mine" as suffering cannot detach one from attachment to "mine." Second, if you say that seeing "mine" as suffering will lead to detachment because you see the faults of "mine." The one with self-grasping is the subject. The faults of "mine"

Merely seeing does not necessarily lead to detachment from attachment to what is mine, because attachment can arise towards some other things that are mine. It is pervasive: because attachment to one object, when it meets with conditions, also becomes the cause of attachment to others. For example, when some desirous people see the faults of other women, they also develop attachment to the women they had previously turned away from. Fifth, there are two parts: stating the thesis and refuting the elimination of faults. First: Fault. A seeker of liberation should not have an object of attachment, because the self, attachment to the self, and what is mine are all without fault. The sign is accepted. Second: There, if it is said that attachment to the self is not without fault because it serves as a basis for suffering, then the self should be with fault because it serves as a basis for suffering. If accepted, then a seeker of liberation should not be detached from attachment to what is mine on the grounds that the self is with fault, because even if the self is with fault, it does not lead to detachment from attachment to the self. Sixth: Merit. Attachment to what is mine should not be caused solely by seeing the merits of what is mine, because seeing the merits of what is mine does not follow whether it is beneficial or not. If accepted, then it should not be destroyed by seeing the faults of what is mine, because it did not arise from seeing the merits of what is mine. If the cause of attachment to what is mine is the mind regarding what is mine, and it arises from seeing merits, therefore it is abandoned by contemplating suffering, then the cause of the arising of the mind regarding what is mine should also not be caused by seeing the merits of what is mine, because seeing the merits of what is mine does not follow whether it is beneficial or not. If accepted, then as before. Seventh: Other. The practice of contemplating what is mine as suffering should not harm attachment to what is mine, because it does not harm attachment to the self. It is pervasive: because if there is attachment to the self, attachment to what is mine will arise. Second, not being able to abandon by knowing the difference between the self and what belongs to the self, the Samkhyas say: Attachment does not arise from seeing merits, but from confusing the object of attachment and the person as one, attachment arises to that object. If it is known to be different, one will become detached from attachment.
