Furthermore, there are two kinds of errors in merely expressing the meaning: merely expressing is not related to the meaning, therefore the meaning of what is said cannot be determined. The first case is: what is said (བརྗོཾད།), as a word that can express, you are not related to the meaning you want to express, because you are not related to the meaning you want to express and the self, the other. What is said (བརྗོདཾ།), if it is said that being unrelated to the other is not established, because all words that can express are produced through the meaning they want to express. Then, the pot, as a thing, you cannot be referred to by both the words "permanent" and "impermanent" at the same time, because you are not the common basis of both permanent and impermanent. The second case is: that (དེཾ།), merely saying, as a thing, you cannot prove your own meaning from your mark on some basis, because there is no "without which it does not arise" relationship between you and your own meaning. That (དེཾ།), as a thing, because you are valid, it is impossible for you to necessarily have no effect because of error, because you are not valid. That (དེཾ།), a person who has become a supply object for meat eaters, as a thing, you cannot prove that there are necessarily no meat eaters on the basis that your valid cognition has not perceived, because if there are meat eaters, your valid cognition does not pervade perception. Fifth, revealing internal contradictions and thus condemning the speaker: class (རིཾག), claiming that the Vedas that reveal various internal contradictions are valid, and claiming that the permanent person is the author, and claiming that bathing can wash away sins, and being arrogant even without merit because of noble birth, and the suffering caused by serving the five fires to destroy the sins of the heart, as a thing, you are the correct result sign that proves that a foolish person has rationality and corrupted wisdom, because you are the reason that has the three characteristics to prove these, because you yourself are the result produced by the cause of corrupted wisdom. The third is valid cognition, etc. The explanation of the first chapter is completed. Second, the explanation of the establishment of valid cognition that distinguishes between meaning and non-meaning is divided into three parts: first, showing the connection of the relationship; in the middle, explaining the text of the chapter itself; finally, showing the concluding summary of the name. The first part is: by explaining the first two verses of the offering praise of the sutra, to explain the distinction between meaning and non-meaning, and its main cause.

After having first explained the inference for one's own sake, now I will actually explain the method of distinguishing between what is meaningful and what is not. The second part has three points: explaining that the object to be proven is valid; explaining its perfect proof; explaining the necessity of praising the valid. The first part has two points: showing the Blessed One as valid; explaining the necessity of saying "become". The first part has three points: explaining the definition that comes from the sutras; eliminating contradictions between one's own system and others; applying it to the meaning of the present context. The first part has three points: explaining the definition with its meaning; eliminating the three faults of that definition; explaining the determinant established on the basis of the subject. The first point is: ཚདཾ། (Tibetan) The consciousness that is not deceptive is the subject to be proven, it is the definition of valid cognition, because the meaning opposite to the direct contradiction of valid cognition is established. What is the meaning of non-deception? First, for the commonly known valid cognition, for example, the direct perception of the sense power that grasps fire, you have three special characteristics of non-deception, because you are the valid cognition that can function as your own object and is measured there. The second point is: the previous definition has the fault of non-pervasion, because it does not pervade the valid cognition arising from sound, if you say so. (Tibetan) There are two types of valid cognition arising from sound, from the sign of the word "vase", the inference that understands that the speaker, Devadatta, has the intention of motivation, you do not have the fault of non-pervasion of non-deception, because you are not deceptive to the intention of motivation in the continuum of Devadatta who speaks the word "vase". (Tibetan) From the sign of the word "vase", the mind that understands that it and the knowable object that possesses it, the expressed meaning vase, exists, you do not have the non-pervasion of non-deception, therefore, for the definition of valid cognition, there is no fault of non-pervasion of non-deception, because you are not valid cognition. If there is a fault of over-pervasion for the subsequent cognition. (Tibetan) The definite cognition that ascertains blue, which arises after the direct perception of the sense power that grasps blue, you are not a non-deceptive consciousness, because you are the consciousness that grasps the object that has already been grasped by the previous valid cognition that guides you, and adds to it. There is the fault of impossibility for the sense power that has form, because the component consciousness of the definition is impossible for the sense power that has form, if you say so. (Tibetan) Sense power that has form, you are not consciousness
