If someone asks: Life and other dharmas, it is unreasonable that because you do not exist, it is not the pervasion of no-self. If so, then you must establish a connection with the self, why? Because you have not established a connection with the self. Therefore. (Questioner) If (life, etc.) has not established a connection with the self, is it okay to say that it is because there is a simultaneous occurrence relationship with the self? (Answerer) No. Life and other dharmas, it is unreasonable that you have not established a simultaneous occurrence relationship with the self. Because the three kinds of direct perception that prove the causal relationship between me and you cannot be established. The second case is: If the sign of life, etc., is used to prove that the living body has a self, then is it okay to say that the example of the opposite side is like a vase? (Answerer) No. I, as a dharma, it is unreasonable that you exist in the living body, and the difference that vases, etc., do not exist is unreasonable, because you have not been determined by the visible measure. If you admit it, then the vase and other dharmas, it is unreasonable that you are not a correct different example regarding that aspect, because you have not been known by the measure to be contrary to me. Life, I, as a dharma, it is unreasonable that the existence and non-existence of you and life in the living body are not the same, because you have not been determined by the visible measure. The third part has three aspects: First, explain that there is no harm in inference; second, refute the argument that there is harm; third, establish the argument that there is no harm. The first point is: The living body, as a dharma, does not have life, etc., which is unreasonable, because there is no self, just like a vase, is it okay to say that? (Answerer) Reason. Life and other dharmas, because I am the cause of you, it is unreasonable to infer that if the living body does not have me, then you will not exist, because I am not the cause of you. The second point is: If the living body is the same as the vase, etc., without life, etc., it is unreasonable, because the vase, etc., and I are not the same. Then, the vase and other dharmas should have a self, because they are the same as the living body and measurable things. If someone says that even if the vase is proven to have a self, it will not accept the accomplished fact, then the vase, as a dharma, you should admit that it has a self, because you have been proven by the measure to have a self. The third point is: So, what is the cause of life, etc.? Life, life, and opening and closing eyes, etc., are not born from me, because they are born from their own causes, such as memory, desire, etc. Memory, desire, and other dharmas are not born from me, because they are born from their own causes, such as objects, roots, and previous thoughts.
