Because there is a difference of one. Maṃ. A lump of gold mashaka ten gradually mixed, the subject. You and two lumps of mashaka ten mixed together, the sound of calling it a lump of mashaka ten is the same, which is not established, because you have nine substances with limbs on top of mashaka ten. The other has only one substance with limbs. Gaṃla. If starting from mustard seeds, one substance is produced on each pile, even so, it does not exceed one tael, so there is no fault, if you say so. Yuṃṅsa. The weight of the limb-possessing from dust particles to mustard seeds is also a dharma. It should not exceed one tael. Because the weight is very small. If you admit, one tael is the subject. Only the weight of the limb is known from you. What weight is known from you? Because the weight of the limb-possessing is not known from you. Doṃna. The limb-possessing is the subject. Your weight is not the same as cotton wool and the meaning of the example. Because your weight, either your self-nature or your result, is not known by valid cognition. The fourth is: Licidaṃ. A lump of mashas etc. added together is the subject. There are no extra qualities of form etc. that are not on the limb. Because the reason for preventing the extra qualities of weight that are not on the limb can also prevent the extra qualities of form etc. Damaṃ'a. The reason that one does not hold the difference of low scales is the subject. It also represents the prevention of extra qualities of form etc. on the limb-possessing. Because it shows that the extra qualities of weight on the limb-possessing, although appearing, are not found. The second is: Khaṃsa. The Vaiśeṣika's vow to prevent the difference of dharma is the subject. You are also harmed by other valid cognitions. Because you are harmed by the Vaiśeṣika's own commitments etc. The way the third example represents the latter is: Ciṃ. Showing the way of harming the vow to prevent the difference of dharma is the subject. There are other necessities. Because it also shows the way of harming the vow to prevent the difference of the subject and the self-nature of the subject itself. The second is to negate the nature of what should be established, which is recognized by other schools, there are three ways: Negate with the fault of being too extreme, examine what should be established and negate, examine by combining the determined object. The first has two: Negating by being too extreme, negating other's fault avoidance.

Firstly, in short, "showing what is to be established" means that for something that is not established, it is merely given meaning. If that is the case, then unestablished reasons and examples will also become what is to be established. This is explaining this meaning. Logicians consider showing what is to be established as the characteristic of a proposition. For example, sound is the subject, it is permanent, because it is an object perceived by the eye. For example, like consciousness. If it is stated like this, then consciousness being permanent and sound being an object perceived by the eye become the subject. It follows that it becomes the subject in the current context. Because in the current context, it is not established in the mind of the opponent. The second part has two points: refuting other answers based on differences in intention; refuting other answers based on differences in action, etc. The first point is: if the proponent thinks that the sound of what is to be established only refers to the proposition that the proponent wants to establish, then there is no fault in the unestablished example and reason becoming what is to be established. If you think so, then the unestablished example and reason, as the subject, you cannot prove that they are not what is to be established by the reason that the opponent does not want to establish them. Because you are the subject of knowledge and are unestablished in the current situation. The universal rule is admitted. Because the Vaibhashikas admit that the subject of knowledge is unestablished in the current situation, Dignaga mentioned the unestablished example and reason as an example of fault. The second point is: in short, that subject, you cannot prove that it is not what is to be established by the reason that it is not the object among the three of action, agent, and object, is not a branch of what is to be established among the five members, and is not the tenet of acceptance among the four tenets. Because you are the subject of knowledge and are unestablished in the current situation. Secondly, in short, the subject is what is to be established, the reason is meaningless; the dharma is what is to be established, then there is no similar dharma. If both are like this, then the faults of both will occur. Moreover, the collection of dharma and subject is what is to be established, but the flawed reason, as the subject, is consistent with the example and similar dharma, and is what establishes what is to be established, the characteristic of such a reason is not established. Because in the current situation, the debater does not distinguish the dharma with the difference of impermanence, therefore the pramana is not established. The concordant example of the reason that produces the impermanence of sound, the pot, as the subject, is consistent with what is to be established and the similar dharma, and is what establishes what is to be established, the characteristic of such an example is not established.
