In response, the second point is: Gaṃla. When arranged in this way, if the reason does not produce its own result at all, then this subject would contradict impermanence such as pleasure, because it is a harm to them. Even so, the reason and its own result are produced gradually, therefore this subject, you do not contradict impermanence such as pleasure, because you and impermanence such as pleasure have a common basis. The subject that harms permanence such as pleasure, you are able to function gradually, and you are a remaining reason that proves harm to impermanence such as pleasure, because the aspect of it is established, but the pervasion is not certain. The third point is: Gaṃ. In short, the statement "on its own nature" is a subject, in order to show that it does not harm the object to be proven at the time when it harms only an unrelated subject or the subject of another object, because it shows that the subject distinguished by the desired object is the object to be proven at the time. For example, just as the word "self" in the additional part of the definition of what is to be proven, because it harms the meaning of the scriptures of other things, it cannot harm the object to be proven at the time. The fourth point is: Sgrubam. If harming the subject, harming the dharma, and harming both are three aspects of error, then the three such as the unestablished subject should also be explained, because they harm the establishment of the aspect. If you say so, then all contradictions and example errors are subjects, because they are like that. If you admit it, then it is not so, because they are not errors related only to the commitment. Yamna. The three such as the unestablished subject are subjects, you do not become an aspect error, because you depend on stating reasons that will become errors. Secondly, the errors of the aspect such as preventing distinctions that are established in that way are divided into two: the former is a brief explanation of the way of establishment, and the latter is an explanation of examples that symbolize it. The first point is: 'Dhimsa. In short, showing that harming the nature of the dharma is an aspect error is a subject, and there is another need, because showing that harming the distinction of the dharma, the distinction of the subject, and the nature of the subject itself is an aspect error. The second point is divided into three: explaining the need to state examples, the actual example with the need, and that example symbolizes the latter.

It is about explaining the way of refuting. First, དེཾ. In this Commentary on Valid Cognition, the example of stating what harms the nature of the Dharma is the subject of the proposition. It is necessary because it is to point out the meaning of the three things that harm the distinction of the Dharma. The second has two parts: explaining the way of harming through inference, and explaining the way of harming through promises, etc. The first has four parts: explaining the intention of the proposition that is the object of harm, showing the reasoning that harms it, refuting the other's answer that has no harm, and establishing the refutation of others by that method. First, ལྡཾན། The Vaisheshika school is the subject of the proposition, having promised that the possessor of the three qualities that can be seen by direct perception is other than its own parts, because it is that, or having promised that the possessor of the parts that cannot be seen by direct perception is merely other than its own parts, whichever it may be, because it is not the latter. Second, གཾལ། When one of the two sets of ten clay balls of equal weight is mixed and weighed on a scale, that clay ball is the subject of the proposition. Compared to the set of ten clay balls that are not mixed and weighed on a scale, the head of the scale will become lower, because it is equal to the weight of its parts, and the weight of the possessor of parts and the action of the fruit going down have a surplus. The self-nature is emitted from the space. The possessor of parts is the subject of the proposition, not pervading both the increase of merit and the action of the fruit going down, because the two are not seen. Because the reasoning that does not hold the difference of the low scale is the subject of the proposition, it harms the possessor of the three qualities that are the distinction of the Dharma, because it is the reasoning that refutes the increase of merit in reality, and refutes the other two by implication. The third has two parts: stating the other's answer, and refuting the meaning of the example. First, ཕྲཾ. Although the mixed ten clay balls have an increase of merit, the scale cannot know it, because there is only one increase of merit. For example, it is like putting a piece of cotton wool on a load of cotton wool, if you say so. Second, དེཾ. From the two sets of ten clay balls of equal weight, one set of ten is gradually mixed, and when one set of ten is mixed all at once and weighed on a scale, the two lumps are the subject of the proposition, and the number of the scale will become a difference of more or less, because the weight of the parts is equal, and the weight of the possessor of parts is nine.
