Therefore, having accepted the sign, even if one does not accept it and considers it to be subject to arising and ceasing, then, the object, as the subject of a property, the self-grasping consciousnesses individually arise and cease in each moment, because whatever causes your self-grasping consciousness to arise is subject to arising and ceasing. If you accept this, it contradicts the belief that the mind is permanent and singular. Secondly, if you consider the distinction of the clarity of the object as a sign to establish the mind in oneself, then the sign is what is known or not known by oneself. If knowledge is the sign, then the clarity of the object, as the subject of a property, how is it established that what is called 'knowing' by your own mind is established, it is not established, because its object is completely determined as knowledge, that is, it is not admitted to be established by valid cognition. If you admit this, then the clarity of the object, as the subject of a property, how is it the cognizer of the mind in one's own continuum, it cannot be, because there is no determination that it has been known by the mind of one's own continuum. The pervasion is admitted. The clarity of the object known by one's own mind is not a sign, but rather, seeing, that is, the clarity of the object not seen by one's own mind, is it a sign to establish the mind in one's own continuum? If so, then the clarity of the object seen by others, as the subject of a property, from you it should be possible to realize your own mind, because the distinction of the clarity of the object, which you have not seen, is also present in you. The sign is established, because the clarity of the object seen by others is also just the clarity of the object that one has never seen at all. Thirdly, it is too extreme to infer one's own mind from an independent object. Therefore, from an independent object, such as a pot, as the subject of a property, it is not possible to infer the mind in one's own continuum, because it does not depend on or is not related to the properties of one's own mind. There are two types of the third case: the collection of causes being the same is not a sign, and the collection of causes being different is not a sign. The first case: is the property of the object not a sign to establish the mind, but rather the property of the mind itself is a sign? If so, the sign to establish the mind, the property of the mind, if it is established by direct perception, it can become a sign, but if it is not established, it cannot become a sign, so it must be established by direct perception. In that case, the property of the mind that is established by direct perception, as the subject of a property, what else is there besides one's own mind, there should be nothing, because nothing other than one's own mind is established by valid cognition. If you admit this, one's own mind

Because it is not established by direct perception, it cannot be taken as a reason. Furthermore, is the dharma accepted as a reason for mind born from the very collection of causes for mind, or from another collection of causes? If it is like the first case, then the dharma of mind is the subject. From what is it different from mind, such that it should be mind itself? It follows that it is mind itself, because mind and the collection of causes arise from the same single source. If you accept that, then that too is not a reason because it is not established by direct perception. The second case is: If it arises from another collection of causes, then the dharma of mind is also the subject. It follows that it is one who is deluded about mind, and cannot establish mind, because it has no connection with mind. If it is not established, then it must be accepted as a result. That is, the five objects such as form, and the faculties and the objects are all minds. Other than these, the other result of that mind is the subject. It is an approximate example, not an existence, because it is visible but unseen. In that case, both the faculty and the mind are the subject. It follows that it is not a reason for establishing mind, because it transcends the faculty. If mind is not established by direct perception, then that too is not established by direct perception. Among the five objects, form is the subject. It follows that it is not the result of the mind that grasps form, because whatever is born from the seeing mind, and elsewhere, that is, whatever is devoid of the possibility of arising from another, none of them are ascertained by direct perception. In that way, whatever is accepted as a reason for establishing mind, that dharma is the subject. To say that it is a reason for establishing mind is just a casual remark, because there is no direct perception to know it. The third is divided into two: the mind of one's own continuum cannot be established, and the mind of another's continuum cannot be established. The first is: In that way, there is no reason for establishing mind in the continuum, but even if we assume there is a reason, then what is accepted as a reason for mind is the subject. How can you realize mind in your own continuum from yourself? It follows that it is not a valid reason for establishing mind in one's own continuum, because the connection between one's own continuum of mind and together is not seen by direct perception, because one's own continuum of mind is not established by direct perception anywhere. The former has pervasion, because a valid reason is not a dharma that is unseen in its own place of connection, and it does not clarify its own subject, that is, it does not make it understood. If, from the very reason for establishing mind in oneself, before mind is established in oneself, mind is already established elsewhere, and there the connection between the reason and mind is certain, then later by that reason
