Having arisen, explain the result of the valid cognition of appearance. Although external objects exist, they become the result of one's own consciousness. Although appearances are false, they also become the result of one's own consciousness. The first has three parts: establishing that valid cognition and its result are of the same nature, refuting that valid cognition and its result are different entities, and dispelling disputes about being of the same entity. The first has four parts: understanding the object is the establishing proof, the establishing ability must have two distinctions, therefore valid cognition and its result are not different entities, although it is so, it can be the object and the agent. The first is: generally speaking, for what is to be proven and the proof, there are knowable and knowing, produced and producing, and establishing what is to be proven and the proof, etc., and all of these have three things: action, act, and agent. Among them, what is to be proven and what proves it, the dharma, the action, that is, all the proofs, are not all agents, because for what is to be known, the proof other than the knower cannot establish it, and for what is to be produced, what is other than the producer cannot establish it, and for what is to be established, what is other than the establisher cannot establish it. Similarly, all proofs are not all that is to be proven, and it should be applied in the same way. If you ask what is here in this case? In the case of valid cognition and its result, the dharma, the establisher itself is the proof, what is the proof, from which the proof can establish the result of its own action, that is the proof of that action, what is the time to establish the result of what is to be established as what is to be established. What is the establisher? In the first case of valid cognition and its result, the dharma, the meaning that becomes the nature of consciousness is the establisher, because it is the time to establish the understanding of the object as what is to be established. The second has two parts: it must be the nature of consciousness, and it must be the appearance of the object. The first has two parts: consciousness can distinguish the understanding of the object, therefore the sense organ is not the establisher. The first is: the action is form, etc., the experience of it is only consciousness, such as the consciousness of blue perception, etc., which has the same nature, the dharma, your action as the agent is the object, depending on each, this is understanding blue, this is understanding yellow, etc.

The dharma that can distinguish and differentiate various meanings must be your very nature. Because matter cannot distinguish and differentiate various meanings. Secondly, regarding the tangible sense organs that are the cause of knowledge, you have the phenomenon of generating clear and unclear knowledge from clarity and unclarity, even though there are different functions, i.e., knowledge that only has awareness of each object without difference, this is not necessarily a factor in distinguishing meanings. Because you are not the nature of knowledge, but the common cause of all sensory knowledge. The second point is divided into two parts: the result meaning is able to establish the understanding of meaning. Therefore, it is not the determiner of the senses. The first point: because it is not the nature of knowledge, it cannot establish the understanding of meaning. Therefore, from the different aspects of the meaning that has become the nature of this knowledge, it can be distinguished that this and this knowledge are the understanding of this and this of blue, yellow, etc., this dharma is proven to have the proof of understanding meaning, because oneself has become the actor, able to determine the understanding of meaning. The second point: then, what is the knowledge that can separately determine the understanding of meaning? Some say that it is determined only by the knowledge produced by the clarity and unclarity of the senses. Even if the aspects of clarity and unclarity of the senses make the nature of knowledge clear and unclear, the knowledge produced by it, i.e., the essence of meaning, i.e., the aspect that has not appeared other than the aspect that has appeared, is not the characteristic of understanding meaning. Because this knowledge does not determine the recognition of this meaning, i.e., it is related to the meaning. Thirdly, therefore, the nature of the external object to be measured, i.e., the aspect that appears from what is given from itself, this dharma, you are the proof of understanding the external object to be measured, because you can symbolize the understanding of the external object to be measured. If the proof of understanding meaning is different from meaning, then the knowledge of the appearance of meaning cannot be related to the object, because the aspect of the object has not appeared. Therefore, the result meaning understanding is not other than the meaning that is the same as the measure, and being the same as the meaning is also your nature, therefore. Fourth, the nature of measure and result is one, the action and the meaning of
