I generate the emanation through the power of repeated meditation, that is, the non-conceptual wisdom that arises, and because it is seen by valid cognition as having a clear appearance. Therefore, whatever mind that has become extremely accustomed to the true meaning, such as selflessness, and the untrue meaning, such as the exhaustion of the earth, etc., its characteristic is: when the meditation is complete, the object of meditation will appear clearly, and a non-conceptual mind will arise as a result. This is because the basis of stability and habituation naturally transforms into something special, and the object of meditation is the mind that has been meditated upon. Fourth, the arising of clear appearance and non-conceptuality from the habituation of true and untrue meanings, regarding this, the mind that has arisen from the clear appearance after meditating on the reality of the Four Noble Truths as explained in the second chapter, its characteristic is: it is considered to be direct perception, because it is a wisdom that is non-conceptual and non-deceptive with respect to the true meaning. The remaining samadhi of the exhaustion of the earth, etc., its characteristic is: although it is non-conceptual, it is not yogic direct perception, because it is close to delusion, that is, it is confused. Third, in short, the sutra says: "Conceptuality is also considered to be self-awareness, but not for the meaning, because it is conceptuality." Explaining its meaning is: if all four direct perceptions are non-conceptual, then is it possible for conceptuality itself to become any of the four direct perceptions? If it is possible, it contradicts the statement that all four are non-conceptual. If it is not possible, it contradicts the statement that attachment, etc., are self-awareness. The answer to this is: conceptuality can also become self-aware direct perception in its own nature, but it is not conceptuality for the meaning. Because for the object that has become conceptuality, there is no becoming direct perception, so there is no contradiction. Thus, the characteristic of any consciousness is: for any object that has become grasping sound and meaning, it is not direct perception for that object, because for any object that has become grasping sound and meaning, it is conceptuality for that object. And, that characteristic is: it is non-conceptual in its own nature, because it is not grasping sound and meaning in its own nature, because its own nature is not sound and meaning, that is, it is not the real object of sound. Therefore, the characteristic of all conceptual and non-conceptual consciousness is: it is direct perception for its own nature, because it is a non-conceptual and non-deluded consciousness for its own nature. Second, because non-deception realizes is direct

Explanation of seeming valid cognition: In general, the Compendium on Valid Cognition states, "Error and conventional knowledge, as well as inference and that arising from inference, memory and manifest desire, these are called seeming valid cognitions, including blurred appearances." Error is like the conceptual thought that grasps a mirage as water. Conventional knowledge is like the conceptual thought that grasps the substance, number, action, and generality, etc., of a pot. Inference is the mind that grasps the sign. That which arises from inference is valid inference. Memory is the recollection of the past. Desire is like the thought that desires future things. These are explained in this text by being condensed into three
