If it is said that the establishment is not accomplished, it is because the first moment of the apprehended object generates nominal conceptualization, and the object that becomes the cause of sense consciousness is the later moment other than the first moment. Sense consciousness, the subject, for the fact that its apprehended object generates itself, nominal conceptualization would become meaningless, because nominal conceptualization only grasps the first moment of the object, but you grasp only the later moment of the object, which nominal conceptualization has not made an object, as the apprehended object. It pervades, because when there is nominal conceptualization, how is the previous object to which the name has been applied, that is, the object of understanding, established? Sense consciousness grasps the later object without the distinction of objects, and if the later object directly generates sense consciousness, then what is the meaning of nominal conceptualization for it? Therefore, it must be meaningless. If it is said that the reason is not established, it is because sense consciousness only grasps the general appearance of the object of nominal terms. Sense consciousness is not established, the subject, the difference of objects does not need to rely on the second moment as the simultaneous condition, because it only grasps the general appearance that does not depend on objects. Third, taking eye consciousness as an example, sense consciousness, the subject, taking eye and form as an example, it arises depending on its three conditions, but not from nominal conceptualization, because it follows the presence or absence of its own three causes and conditions, but does not follow the presence or absence of nominal conceptualization. Second, there are two ways to refute the debate between the proponent and the opponent: refuting the name of the proponent and refuting the meaning of the nature. First, in general, because it is an uncommon cause, its name is established by the sense organ. The explanation of the meaning is divided into two: debate and answer. First, if it is said that when generating the direct perception of the sense organ, just as the sense organ has the ability, the object also has the same ability, then why is the consciousness that arises from relying on both the object and the sense organ not represented by the object and called the direct perception of the object, but represented by the sense organ and called the direct perception of the sense organ? Second, the reason why the term "direct perception of the sense organ" is applied to the unerring consciousness arising from both the object and the sense organ is also this term.

The reason why that thing can be understood as non-common is because of its dharma. Because the term "sensory perception" can understand the unerring knowledge arising from both object and sense faculty as non-common. This is pervasive. In general, intelligent people do not use words without a reason, but because they see the necessity of understanding that thing as non-common by relying on that word, they definitely use that word as the name of that thing. Therefore, the term "sensory perception" is suitable to be applied to the unerring knowledge arising from both object and sense faculty, because it is a term that can understand the unerring knowledge arising from both object and sense faculty as non-common, which is a nature sign. What is the correct proof? Because it has an integral connection with its own object of proof. For the unerring knowledge arising from both object and sense faculty, it would be contradictory to say that the term "object knowledge" is applicable, because the nature of being able to understand itself as non-common from that term itself has disappeared. The second part is divided into two points: refuting the debate that is harmful by scripture, and refuting the debate that is harmful by reasoning. The first point is: In the sutra, it says: "Because it is produced from many things, it is the object of the general self-meaning." Explaining this sentence is divided into two points: debate and answer. The first point is: You, the Sautrantika school, assert that sensory consciousness is free from conceptualization, which contradicts what your own school says that the five aggregates of consciousness are those that focus on accumulation. For example, sensory consciousness is the subject, it must be related to conceptual thought, because it is a consciousness that holds the general characteristics. The reason is accepted, because the accumulation that is said to be focused on accumulation is the gathering of many dharmas, and that gathering is the general characteristic, so sensory consciousness focuses on it. Furthermore, Master Vasubandhu said in the Commentary on the Abhidharmakosha: "These are the places of origin of their own characteristics, and are the objects of their own characteristics, but not the characteristics of substances." This is also contradictory, because sensory consciousness is the object of its own characteristics.
