If it is thought that what is apprehended is not the same as and not clear as what appears, then it has already been refuted before. The fourth part has three points: refuting that the common appearance is self or other; abandoning the sameness with the opposite commonality; establishing the reason that is established by negation. The first point is: if the commonality is established in meaning, is the common appearance the same entity or a different entity? The Samkhya says: it is the same entity. If so, the various things are the subject, how can they become a single essence without difference in nature, it should not become so, because in the ultimate truth, there are differences such as having mind and not having mind. It is not pervasive, because things have two essences, one without difference in nature and one with temporary difference. If so, then nature and temporary are the subject, how can they become things, that is, become a single nature, it should not become so, because they are two essences of difference and no difference. If the Naiyayikas say: the commonality of things that appear the same is different in meaning from those appearances, then the commonality is the subject, it will become unrelated to "the commonality of those appearances", because it is another meaning that does not depend on appearances. The second point is: that fault is also the same for you, if so, the opposite commonality is the subject, you cannot refute it by being one or different from the appearance in meaning, because it does not exist in meaning. The third point is: this commonality is the subject, the characteristic of not having things is the nature, because it follows the same as the appearance. Pervasive, if it is the same commonality, then it has already been prevented from being either the same entity or a different entity from the appearance. The fifth part has two points: if it is a result, it is harmed by three faults; if it is not a result, it is harmed by two faults. The first point is: if the commonality is a thing, then is it a result or not? If the commonality is a result, then the commonality is the subject, it will become multiple and destructible, because it is the result that pervades multiple appearances. But this is not what is desired, because the desire is for singularity and permanence. The commonality is the subject, it will not be permanent, because it is the thing of the result. Pervasive, because destruction is related to things only as nature. The second point is: the various kinds are results

Since it is not a son, there is no fault, the category of cow is the subject of the proposition. It should be established that it is not related to the individual cows. Because it is not the fruit of the individual cows, but another substance. That is the subject of the proposition. It should become non-existent. Because it is not a fruit. Sixth, there are two: Showing the pervasion and establishing the reason. Refuting those who say the reason is not established. The first is: The conceptual mind of the general holder is the subject of the proposition. Your appearing object is not real, because it does not exist that you appear in that way to your own object without relying on verbal memory. The pervasion is: Whichever consciousness is born from the power of the object of apprehension, that does not rely on verbal memory. The second is: If the reason is not established, the mind of grasping the general cow does not arise for the horse and the white and variegated cow. Even if the white and variegated and black and short cows do not understand the verbal conventions, a single mind of grasping the general cow arises. Seeing the two objects of white and variegated and black and short, even if some minds do not have verbal memory, whatever one general mind that is not different follows, that is the subject of the proposition. It is not born from the general object cow, because it is close to and related to the meaning of the individual cows, so it is born from that. For example, even if there is no category object cow, it is the fruit of sense consciousness, and the three conditions of the eye etc., which have become the cause, are close, just as it is thought that sense consciousness will arise. If there is no category object cow for the individual cows, then how does the category exist? The two of white and variegated and black and short are the subject of the proposition. The category of cow also follows, because for the reason of not making the fruit of the cow, it is distinguished from what is not a cow, because of that reason. Seventh, there are two: Establishing the reason. Removing the dispute. The first is: The general is the subject of the proposition. It is not an object that does not depend on the individual, because in some way of reasoning, for the self-grasping consciousness, you, that object, do not appear. The second is: If the sense organ that has form also becomes an object that does not depend on the external object, because it does not appear as an object that does not depend on it. The sense organs that have form are the subject of the proposition. For you, if there is a viewer like the noble one, your body will appear, because you do not depend on external forms etc.
