Whatever appears is the subject. By what meaning do you transform it, there is no transformer, it should be a fault. The general characteristic is empty of blue etc., therefore you will not establish the appearance of blue. Brightness is not your object, because you have promised. Third, if the object is directly expressed by sound, and also directly understood by sound, then the senses etc. should become meaningless faults, no, because in order to directly know the object of form, it is necessary to have senses etc. to be meaningful. Form, you know it by sound, therefore it is not directly known. From the senses etc., from what does the wisdom of direct knowledge by sense consciousness appear to be different, it should not be different. Because, the real object of both the conceptual mind and the sense consciousness is one object. Second has three: Explaining the truth of the reasoning of establishment. Therefore, it is established that non-object is what is said. Refuting that what is said is an object. First has three: Establishing the nature of the law, establishing the reason, eliminating the dispute. First, if the general characteristic is established as a real object, then is it one entity or a different entity from brightness? The Samkhya says: It is one entity. The general characteristic of the vase is not the kind of vase brightness etc. that has kinds, it should be a fault. Because the bright nature of the vase does not depend on other gold vases, because it is one entity with the silver vase. The Vaisheshika says: If the general characteristic is established as a different entity from brightness, the general characteristic of the vase should be said to be the result of the vase's brightness. Because other things depend on the vase's brightness. If it is not the result of the vase's brightness, then the general characteristic of the vase has no relationship with the vase's brightness, it should be a fault. Because it is not the result of the vase's brightness, and it is a different entity from it. Periphery: The result, smoke etc., is produced from its own cause, therefore in the ultimate sense it does not depend on the cause, but the conceptual mind will say that the smoke is produced from the fire, thereby establishing a relationship, if it is not the other entity of the result, how can there be a relationship, because there is no relationship. Second, the general characteristic of the vase is established as having no self-nature in the ultimate sense, because from its own brightness, it is neither itself nor other, therefore. Third, from the brightness of the vase, it cannot be said to be itself or other.

If it is said that the general characteristic that follows after the appearance of a pot, wouldn't the general characteristic possessed by the pot become non-existent, like the category of a rabbit's horn? The general characteristic of a pot, the dharma, will not become non-existent, like the category of a rabbit's horn, because it does not depend on it. Some argue that even a non-existent rabbit's horn will become a category, but this argument does not bring out the function of the word "six." The second part has four points: showing that the meaning to be expressed is examined by conceptual thought; showing that conceptual thought is mistaken; what is examined by mistake is non-existent; refuting the proof of the existence of things. The first point is: if the general characteristic is not a thing, then is it unnecessary to express it with words? Because it needs to rely on the manifested general characteristic, therefore relying on the nature of the pot's manifestation, through mental examination of the kind of pot that has no self-nature, using the words "pot" to fully show, the dharma, it is necessary, because it is a meaningful thing that enters into the self-characteristic of the pot. The second point is: whatever conceptual thought that holds the pot, the dharma, is mistaken, because it regards the image that appears to itself as the nature of the external pot, or holds the meaning of the external pot as that image itself. What is the cause of the mistake? That, the dharma, you have the cause of the mistake, because from beginningless time, when you see the manifestation of the pot, the habitual tendency of clinging to the appearance and examination as one will conjure up the mistake, that is, produce the mistake. The third point is: for things, that is, those general characteristics of the pot's manifestation, which have the characteristic of being separated from other different kinds, what is expressed by the words "pot," the dharma, has no real nature at all, because it is merely mistaking the image of conceptual thought as an external thing. Therefore, the general characteristic of the pot, the dharma, is not a truly established nature, because in the image of the mind that holds the general characteristic of the pot's non-existence, the general characteristic itself is mistakenly seen as the general characteristic, and there is a mistaken understanding of the meaning of the pot's manifestation, or the image of the pot's non-existence is regarded as the general characteristic in conceptual thought, and that conceptual thought is also defiled, because in reality, that image is not the real thing of the pot. Therefore, the general characteristic of the pot, the dharma, cannot be said to be the substance itself, nor can it be said to be another thing itself, because the real nature
