The second has two points: stating the consequence and refuting the fault. The first point: The mind, as the subject, it follows that there is no knowledge that knows the connection between white and so on and the knowledge that sees white and so on, because like white and the knowledge that grasps white, when one of the two, object and knowledge, understands the object, the other knowledge is not seen. The sign is accepted. If you want, the mind, as the subject, how does the object, white, become distinguished and grasped by the knowledge of grasping white? It should not be so, because there is no knowledge of the connection between the object and the object-possessor of white and grasping white. The pervasion is established, because only when the two, object and knowledge, are seen together in connection, it will be certain that "this object is seen by this mind", otherwise it is not. The second has three points: if there is similarity, self-awareness is established; similarity itself will also not be established; if there is no similarity, it is too extreme. The first point: Even if object and knowledge are not known together, there is no fault as just mentioned, because the knowledge that sees blue and so on arises similar to the object blue and so on, and when another mind sees it, it is said that "this knowledge sees this object". If so, this knowledge of seeing the object, as the subject, should be established as self-awareness, because it is a knowledge similar to the object. Furthermore, the knowledge that appears as an object, as the subject, how does it know the nature of other objects? It should not know, because it does not know its own entity. If you think that experiencing the object comes from being similar to the object, then experiencing the object from being similar to the object is also unreasonable, because it has already been completely eliminated that all similarities are mutual. The second point: The knowledge after the object-knowing that is similar to the object, as the subject, how can it be certain that the object form and so on is similar to the knowledge that sees it? It should not be certain, because the object form and so on has not been seen before. The pervasion is established, because in general, if both the similar and the similar object are seen, then they are grasping the similarity, otherwise they are not. The third point: For those who not only do not admit self-awareness, but also do not think that knowledge is similar to the object, as the subject, it should be inferred that neither object nor knowledge is seen, because there is neither self-awareness nor knowledge similar to the object.

Because there is no such thing. If it is assumed to exist, then where are those statements of "this is an object, this is knowledge"? Because it is impossible to have names that correspond to the meaning of objects. Because objects and knowledge are not established as valid cognitions. Second, if it is said that the clarity of white, etc., appearing in sense consciousness is the nature of consciousness itself, then the consciousness that grasps white, etc., would become self-illuminating, that is, self-aware. Because what appears clearly to oneself is the nature of consciousness itself. Furthermore, the mind that perceives white, etc., is self-aware or self-illuminating. Because if an object appears clearly, but oneself is not clear, then the object is not clear, and it would become that the object does not appear clearly. Third, there are two ways to establish that one's own mind is not manifest: refuting with the previous reasoning, and refuting with other reasoning. First: In those aspects where knowledge is not self-aware, it is impossible to see all objects and knowledge. This reasoning also answers, or refutes, those royal masters who say that the mind is not established as manifest but is hidden, because the damaging reasoning is the same. Second, there are two: establishing that it is manifest with a sign, and if it is not manifest, there would be too much fault. First, there are two: establishing the reason, and refuting the unestablished. First: The experience of happiness, suffering, desire, hatred, etc., in one's own mindstream is the mind itself. Because it depends on the self-condition, such as the eye sense, and the object, such as the pleasant and unpleasant, and the attention, such as the difference of habituation, and there are different entries such as joy and sorrow. Therefore, happiness, suffering, etc., are established as self-aware manifest. Because it is what is felt, it is established that there is a feeler. And, other than that, any knowledge that is understood through the way of being felt by others who are different in nature is not cognized by valid cognition. Second, there are two: stating the assertion, and explaining the refutation. First: It is not established that the feeler of happiness, etc., is not something else. Because it is established that happiness, etc., can be felt merely by knowing with another mind. Second, there are two: others feeling one's own happiness, etc.
