If it is said that one arises in the aspect of an object and should only experience oneself and not other objects, then why is there the term of experiencing external blue, etc.? The cognizer consciousness, merely by the term of experiencing blue, etc., cannot be established as experiencing blue, etc., because consciousness experiences the nature of its own essence, that is, the aspect of blue, etc. Due to the illusion of assuming that external blue, etc., are experienced, it is said that external blue, etc., are experienced, but not because the nature of the external is experienced. Then, what is the valid means of establishing the existence of external objects? If it is said that there is none, then because the mind is the entity of blue, etc., that is, arising in aspect, other than that, there is no seeing of external objects. If it is said that the mind is not the entity of blue, etc., that is, not arising in aspect, then how is the consciousness that appears as blue, etc., an experience of the object? It should not be an experience of the object, because it does not arise in the aspect of the object. Therefore, when the nature of the consciousness itself experiencing the apprehended aspect is established as not being similar to the object, then what can the object, that is, being similar to the object, accomplish for the experience of the apprehended aspect of this consciousness? It can only be established by arising in the nature of experiencing oneself, that is, it is the object to be measured. Third, if it is said that consciousness is established as experiencing the object because it is similar to the object, then is it similar in all aspects or in some aspects? If it is the first case, then consciousness should become not consciousness, because it is similar to matter and all natures. If experiencing the object by being similar to the object in some aspects, then all consciousnesses such as eye consciousness should experience all objects such as sound, etc., because they are similar to sound, etc., in some aspects. Fourth, just as the consciousness that appears as blue, etc., is considered to experience blue, etc., because it is the nature of blue, etc., that is, arising in aspect, then the later blue consciousness should also experience the former blue consciousness, because the experience is the nature of the former blue consciousness, that is, arising in aspect. Fifth, if it is said that even if there is a similarity of arising, the later blue consciousness does not experience, that is, does not experience the former blue consciousness, meaning seeing the object blue, etc.

If it is said that, just as later it is determined "saw blue etc.," because it is not leading to certainty, therefore there is no fault of the later holder of blue experiencing the former. If it is said like that, then for the consciousness that holds the things blue etc. that usually appear, it is also a subject, not experiencing blue etc., because there is no certainty of the constant arising of the determination "experienced blue etc.," because it is possible that the mind is focused on other objects. If it is said that, for the consciousness that holds things, there is certainty, because there is a cause of certainty, which seems to arise from things, then the later holder of blue is a subject, relative to the experiencer, the former holder of blue, why don't you have the certainty of experiencing the former holder of blue, but should have? Because it seems to arise from the former holder of blue. Second, analyzing and establishing the clear appearance of white etc., divided into two: questioning after observing the meaning of clear, refuting the two extremes of the question separately. First, other reasonings for establishing self-awareness, when the eye consciousness sees white, yellow etc., the clear appearance of white etc., the clarity for the consciousness of self and others, what is this arising appearance? Is it a thing other than the consciousness of white etc. that is clearly clear? Or does it become the nature of that consciousness? Thus observe. The second is divided into two: if it is another thing, it is too much, if it is self-nature, then self-awareness is established. The first is divided into two: consciousness is not clear about things is too much, it is too much to be uncertain of seeing things. First, if according to the first case, then the consciousness that appears white clearly is a subject, how can it become white etc. clearly appearing and not changing? Because oneself is not clear, because that which appears clear to oneself is a different thing from oneself. This is pervasive, if consciousness is established as clear, then things should also appear clearly, if oneself is not clear, then that consciousness must not appear clearly to all beings, that is, to anything. If it is said that, the consciousness that appears white etc. clearly is not clear itself, but the other consciousness of the clarifier that arises later makes it clear, then, the consciousness that appears white etc. clearly is a subject, your clarifier will become endless, because you need a second consciousness to make you clear, and that consciousness also needs a third consciousness etc. to make it clear.
