Regarding the tenet of the ground, both the Truth-Aspect-Only and the False-Aspect-Only schools are similar, but their views differ. The Truth-Aspect-Only school asserts that because there is no external object to be apprehended, there is no apprehending that relies on it. In this way, they consider the emptiness of both the apprehended and the apprehender as the ultimate reality. The False-Aspect-Only school, on the other hand, believes that in addition to this, the apprehended, which appears as both the apprehender and the apprehended within a single consciousness, does not exist nominally, so there is no apprehending that relies on it. Therefore, they consider the emptiness of both the apprehender and the apprehended as the ultimate reality. In this system, it is not generally the case that the apprehender does not exist nominally, because there is the nature of self-awareness, so it must be established as an apprehender. Therefore, when establishing the measure and result of a single sense consciousness here, there are three cases: nominally establishing the object-consciousness as the result, establishing the self-awareness labeler as the result, and establishing the self-awareness nature as the result. In the Truth-Aspect-Only school, there are two cases of nominally establishing the object-consciousness and the self-awareness nature as the result. The differences and so on should be understood in detail from oral instructions, and a little has already been explained in the general meaning. The third part has two points: relying on the aggregates to negate the apprehended and the apprehender, and relying on the characteristics to negate the action. The first point is: if it is argued that the apprehended and the apprehender are established as different in relation to the five aggregates, because the form aggregate is the apprehended and feeling etc. are the apprehender, then the establishment of the five aggregates as different apprehended and apprehender is also false, that is, mistaken, because the appearance of a single consciousness as different apprehended and apprehender is itself false, that is, mistaken. This is pervasive, because the aspect of the five aggregates being established as different apprehended and apprehender is established based on the consciousness appearing as different apprehended and apprehender. The second point is: not only are the apprehended and the apprehender non-existent in reality, but the Buddha also thoroughly explained that all other things that are to be indicated by characteristics are without inherent existence, because the characteristic that establishes those things is empty of inherent existence. The reason is established, the characteristics of the aggregates etc. are without inherent existence, because they do not exist other than in the form of the apprehended and the apprehender. The action of these characteristics is also without inherent existence, such as nominally saying aggregates, and so on, elements.

And the meaning of the aggregates, elements, and spheres being stacked in order of their distinct characteristics, and the meaning of the source, and all the things that open the door for the arising of mind and mental factors are phenomena. The agent, although having no other meaning, possesses the distinction of acting in name only, because in name it can represent those things that it represents. That agent is also a phenomenon. It is an imputation, not its true nature, because your basis, its characteristic, does not exist in ultimate reality. Therefore, those such as the aggregates are phenomena, devoid of characteristics in ultimate reality, also because there is no action of characteristics in ultimate reality. Fourth, there are three: refuting the contradiction of dualistic appearance, refuting that all realize that very nature, and refuting the contradiction with the words of the Sage. First: If all phenomena encompassed by the apprehended and the apprehender are empty of inherent existence, then it contradicts direct perception, you say. Ordinary beings whose minds are deluded by non-afflicted ignorance, the nature of which is such, for you, the appearance of the apprehended and the apprehender as two does not necessitate that the two, the apprehended and the apprehender, truly exist, because for you, depending on the specific causes that awaken the latent imprints, the consciousness that appears as forms and so on will arise as having an aspect that is not suchness, just as someone with cataracts sees strands of hair and so on. Second: If all phenomena are empty of the two, the apprehended and the apprehender, in reality, then ordinary beings will realize the suchness of emptiness of two from the beginning, you say. All ordinary beings who have not seen the other shore, that suchness of emptiness of two is not fully realized, because the latent imprints have not been eradicated from the root due to the appearance of the apprehended and the apprehender as two. The proof is established: if there were no delusions of the appearance of the apprehended and the apprehender as two, then those individuals who have not seen the other shore would not exist. Third: If all phenomena encompassed by the apprehended and the apprehender are empty of inherent existence, then it contradicts the arrangement of the aggregates, elements, and spheres spoken by the Bhagavan, you think. The Bhagavan, although seeing the meaning of suchness, acted as if not seeing, making the gaze of an elephant, and engaging in the practice of the arrangement of the aggregates, elements, and spheres of external objects, is a phenomenon.
