As the perfect Buddhas have said, the many and varied things are not true, because to prove that the appearances of things are not true, it is necessary to rely on the power of things themselves as an argument. Because the basis for such proof is that no valid argument contrary to universal cognition has been found. Secondly, the Sutra School believes that if a single mind manifests in many different forms, and these forms are established in the ultimate truth, then what fault would there be? There would be no fault, because the many forms of the mind are produced by many things. In response, we can say that a single sense consciousness, for you, the many different forms should also not be established in the ultimate truth. If for you, the many different forms are established in the ultimate truth, then you will fall into the predicament of the one and the many forms being one. If you believe that the appearances of things, although not true, are of the nature of appearance, then what do I need to refute for this view? I do not need to refute it, because you have already admitted the false appearance. Therefore, the form that appears dependent on the sense consciousness, whether as the object to be grasped or as the grasping consciousness, is not truly existent in either the inner or outer aspect. Because the essence of consciousness has already been denied as true, and the essence of things is also not true. The latter is established because the coarse appearance itself is not truly existent in a single entity, because the coarse single entity has been denied. Moreover, it is also not truly existent in many atoms, because each atom is impossible for you, and the collection of many atoms does not have a single entity. The second part is divided into two points: appearing as duality is a mistake, therefore, duality emptiness is reality. First, the Mind-Only School believes that because external objects do not exist, the duality of grasper and grasped dependent on external objects also does not exist. However, if a single consciousness manifests as the duality of grasper and grasped, is this manifestation truly existent as it appears? In response, we can say that sense consciousness, for you, the appearance of the duality of grasper and grasped is not truly existent as it appears. Because the blue and other objects that you manifest, the completely distinguishing grasping form is the inner consciousness, and the external blue and other things, as the form of the object to be grasped, are a fabrication outside of consciousness, caused by habitual tendencies.

Therefore. Therefore, the consciousness that appears as different grasping and grasped aspects in the single essence of the consciousness that appears as blue, etc., is the subject. It is actually a deceptive illusion, because it appears as different grasping and grasped aspects in something that does not have different grasping and grasped aspects. The second case is that the consciousness that appears as two, grasping and grasped, is the subject. Both the aspect of the grasped and the aspect of the grasper that depends on it disappear, that is, they become untrue, because the aspect of the grasped alone is untrue. Therefore, all consciousnesses are the subject. Whatever is empty of the two, grasping and grasped, that is also its reality or suchness, because it is only self-awareness that is empty of the two, grasping and grasped. Here, the aspect that is the basis of the debate between true and false aspects is the appearance of "how things appear in various ways" and the appearance of "coarse appearance," which is the meaning of the occasion. That is, for sense consciousnesses, the grasped aspect that appears as blue, yellow, etc., at a distance in its own time. The Sutra School and the True Aspectarians consider it to be the essence of consciousness and to be truly existent. The False Aspectarians consider it to be a fabrication that is not true in any sense. As it is said, "How, how to think of the meaning," etc., and "Therefore, meaning and consciousness," etc., and "By what is the object distinguished," etc. In Tibet, the aspect that is the basis of the debate between true and false aspects is considered to be an aspect that is not included in either the grasped aspect or the grasping aspect, or even if it is considered to be the grasped aspect, it is also considered to be consciousness in the view of the False Aspectarians, which are the two main errors. The former is refuted by the reason that it can appear but is not observed, and the latter is refuted by the realists who do not admit that consciousness is truly established. The view that the grasped aspect pervades consciousness is the tenet of the Sutra School and the True Aspectarians. If one understands the key that in the view of the False Aspectarians, consciousness does not pervade the grasped aspect, then when Sakya Pandita establishes the grasped aspect as measurable in the view of the True Aspectarians, he says that the self-awareness of self-nature is the result, and in the view of the False Aspectarians, when he establishes the grasped aspect as measurable, he says that the self-awareness of the imputed is the result, which can be understood effortlessly. Therefore, "Because there is no grasped, there is no grasper," and "The emptiness that is empty of the two, grasping and grasped, is reality."
