Because those names are applied to whatever the actual object of the earth is. Furthermore, the object of the sense consciousness is not the actual object of designation, because it does not actually appear to the conceptualization that connects the designation. It pervades. That is to say, when conceptualizing the connection between name and meaning, saying "the name of that thing is this," the appearance of the aspects of meaning and sound is what clings to the external name and meaning, and thus connects the name and the named. The previous reason is established, because there is no appearance of a clearly appearing meaning at the time of connecting the designation. It pervades. That is to say, the difference in appearance to consciousness is what distinguishes the meanings. Secondly: If, when making designations for the past, future, and extremely distant places, the self-character does not actually appear, so one does not actually make designations for them, but when pointing to the form appearing to the eye consciousness and saying "this is form," does one actually apply the designation to the self-character? Even when the meaning-form appears to the eye consciousness, the actual object of the designation pointed out by another to the listener, saying "this is form," is that which clings to the external aspect appearing to the conceptualization, which is actually applied by sound, and is not the self-character that has become the object of the sense consciousness. If it were, then when the sense consciousness has no function of entering into the object, the form should appear clearly merely by the speech of another's form, but it does not appear that way. A name, a law, is not something that makes one understand its own object of expression without a designation that connects it to the named; if it were, then even if one did not see the designation, merely hearing it would lead to the fault of understanding its meaning. The third has two parts: showing the cause of confusion and refuting the dispute. The first is: If a logician considers the mental conception that follows the sense faculty to be confused as manifest, and wants to accept the manifest perception of the sense faculty as conception, what is the cause of that confusion? The mind with conception and the mind without conception, those sense consciousnesses, are objects of law. Foolish logicians cling to them as one and have a cause of confusion, because they enter into one object such as form and sound simultaneously.

Ra. Because it enters gradually but quickly. Therefore, it causes confusion. The first cause of confusion is one's own desire, and the second is to comply with the desires of others. The second situation has two aspects: debate and response. The first is: if seeing is non-conceptual, then multiple consciousnesses will not arise simultaneously, so it must arise together with conceptualization. In this case, seeing, the present moment of dharma, will become intermittent, that is, it will not appear uninterruptedly, because the conceptual thought separates between its own before and after. If so, then the second situation has two aspects: seeing is intermittent, the same as others. Refuting the response of those who are not the same. The first is: if according to the view of the theorists, the other's root consciousness is conceptual, then when conceptualizing the past sound that is different from the present conceptualization, the present eye consciousness that grasps form, how is it not intermittent but intermittent? Because the conceptualization of grasping the past sound separates between its own before and after. The second situation has two aspects: stating the other's response, refuting the metaphor and meaning. The first is: if the object of perception is the conceptual dharma of the seeing side, although there is an interval, it appears uninterruptedly, because it has power and enters quickly. Just like when a torch is rotated quickly, the shape of a wheel is seen because it enters quickly, if you think so. Then the second situation has two aspects: refuting the meaning, refuting the metaphor. The first has four aspects: entering quickly is the same as others. The root consciousness will enter simultaneously. The mind will enter simultaneously. Eliminating the debate that exists in both. The first is: if conceptualization and non-conceptualization alternate, then the other's root present moment of dharma will appear uninterruptedly. Because entering quickly is the same for you too. The second is: the auditory consciousness that hears the letter Sa Ra will also hear its own letters simultaneously, because it enters its own letters quickly. If those enter quickly, but are not heard uninterruptedly, then in this view that multiple consciousnesses do not arise simultaneously, the initial attention enters the six objects simultaneously, and when the six roots such as the eye, which are all gathered simultaneously with the six objects such as form, exist simultaneously, the dharma, the six entering consciousnesses will arise in sequence. Enter
