Yes, because it does not depend on signs, it is not inference either. Because it is a valid cognition. The second is, some proponents say: Previously, fire was directly seen in the room. Later, from the sign of smoke behind the room, the grasping that the fire previously seen directly is this one is a valid cognition that sees the characteristics of the previous fire. Such a mind is the subject, it is other than the two valid cognitions, because it depends on signs, it is not direct perception. Because it does not understand the connection between its own basis, the sign, smoke, and the characteristics of fire, it is not inference either. The third is, valid cognitions can be established as more than just the two, direct perception and inference, because there are two types of objects to be measured, self-character and general-character, and many more such as the mixture of self-character and general-character. Or, because for the same object to be measured, multiple valid cognitions can exist as measurers. Because both direct perception and inference are committed to being established on the same object, self-character. Therefore, refuting the number of one valid cognition etc. will not change. Because the two, direct perception and inference, are not determined separately in terms of objects, one can be established on both objects, so the other is meaningless. For example, like seeing differences. Refuting the number of three valid cognitions etc. will not change. Because besides the two, self-character and general-character, there are also mixtures of self-character and general-character etc. They say so. The second part has two: refuting that grasping the mixture is other, refuting that seeing the difference is other. The first part has four: discrimination from signs, grasping the general is inference. The valid cognition that is understood by subsequent certainty. For the view that destruction and non-destruction are the same, it is also inference. Incidentally refuting the view of impermanence accepted by other schools. The first part has three: brief explanation of the actual meaning, detailed explanation incidentally, concluding the text. The first part is: Briefly, therefore combination is valid cognition, the other is not existent. Explaining the meaning of this sentence is: the valid cognition that determines color is impermanent, is the subject, because it grasps by combining the general-character of impermanence on the self-character of color, so the fault of becoming another valid cognition will not occur. Because it grasps by combining the general-character of impermanence on the general-character of color. Some people, here ask two questions, and then from the sign of being made, the valid cognition that understands color is impermanent, grasps as the subject.

That is not unrelated to the previous aspect, because the absence of a sign also exists. Because it does not harm the basis of that example. Some people prohibit saying that if the object of inference is clung to as Shakya, it will contradict. Clinging to the object of decisional knowledge led by direct perception is: how things exist. It is unrelated to these treatises, etc., and directly contradicts "by inference, impermanence, etc.," so it is unreasonable. Therefore, in both the previous and subsequent aspects, it is established as a similar appearance, and the previous aspect is led by direct perception, so it can also be applied to decisional knowledge. Holding the valid cognition that determines color to be impermanent, which can be applied to one's own inference, is the key meaning. The second part has three aspects: even if applied to the general, it is established as the dharma of things; even if there is delusion about others, it will not be deceived by the relationship; the way of not being deceived by the relationship is explained in detail. First, if it is said that impermanence becomes the dharma of non-things, because the generality of color is a non-thing and is its dharma, then, impermanence as a dharma, you are not the nature of non-things, because in fact color itself is established as you, so it does not need to be established, but in consciousness, the self-characteristic of color is not established as your self-characteristic, so it is to establish it. Second, if it is said that impermanence is established on the aspect of other colors, then the self-characteristic of other colors will not be established as impermanent, because the aspect is consciousness, and color is an external object, then, the dharma that infers the knowledge of the impermanence of color, because the aspect of the impermanence of color is established, so the impermanence of color will not be unestablished, because clinging to the aspect that appears to oneself is the self-characteristic of the impermanence of color, so the object of entry, the impermanence of color, is established, because the conceptual thought that establishes the relationship through the impermanence of color is valid cognition. The third part has two aspects: the inference of establishment will not be deceived by the relationship; the inference of refutation will not be deceived by the relationship. The first part has four aspects: the actual situation of how to relate; therefore, it is established without being deceived; even if not deceived, it will be confused; the meaning established by that way. First, if asked how inference establishes a relationship through the self-characteristic of the object of entry, then, sound is impermanent, and the place with fire, on such things, the sound produced by the mind that holds the sign is impermanent, and
