For those who cut off flesh, without attachment and anger, remaining equally, this Dharma, you are called detachment, because you are the basis for abandoning the clinging to acceptance and rejection. Fourth, refuting the contradiction with the teaching of cultivating suffering: If contemplating aggregates etc. as suffering, and generating aversion to suffering is not detachment, then it contradicts the sutra's teaching of cultivating suffering, if you say so. Blessed One Dharma, it is not considering the suffering of suffering that suffering is taught to be cultivated, but considering the suffering of conditioned existence that suffering is taught to be cultivated, and our suffering of conditioned existence is only what is said in the chapter of origination, the contaminated aggregates born from the cause of existence, not just the suffering of suffering. Here, the former things arise momentarily, born from causes and conditions, becoming dependent on causes, therefore explaining it as suffering, this is without distinguishing the chapters of tenets, because in the Sautrantika school, even uncontaminated conditioned phenomena are dependent on causes. Cultivating the suffering of conditioned existence, this Dharma, it is not only you who can be liberated, because you are only the basis for the view of realizing the selflessness of otherness and self-nature, because liberation occurs through the view of realizing the emptiness of the self of otherness and self-nature. The remaining meditations, meditating on impermanence, suffering, etc., are meaningful for generating the view of realizing emptiness, therefore the Blessed One also said that from realizing impermanence, suffering is realized, and from realizing suffering, selflessness is realized, thus, monks, for example, is form permanent or impermanent? Venerable, it is impermanent. Whatever is impermanent, is it happiness or suffering? Venerable, it is suffering. Whatever is impermanent and suffering, and the nature of change, is it reasonable to regard it as 'this is me, this is mine, this is my self'? Venerable, it is not so, because it is said so. Third, if it is not detachment, then there are two types of wandering in samsara: showing that having three is a wanderer in samsara, if not having three, then very much so.
