That which possesses self-grasping, devoid of attachment to what is mine, is the subject. Attachment to what is mine arises because it possesses self-grasping. It is pervasive because, in all circumstances, self-grasping solidifies attachment to self, and that attachment to self abides in the state of being the seed of clinging to what is mine, without lacking anything. Therefore, the person who meditates on what is mine as suffering in order to be free from attachment to what is mine is the subject. Even though diligently meditating on what is mine as suffering, attachment to self hinders detachment from attachment to what is mine, and it also obscures and makes invisible the faults of what is mine. This is because, relying on seeing the qualities of what is mine, it possesses the seed for attachment to self to arise, just as it is. Secondly, if there is attachment to self, attachment to what is mine will not be separated, but if that detachment also separates from attachment to self, then the sign of attachment to self cannot be established. If you think like that. Now, that detachment is the subject. Even if you are detached from attachment to it by meditating on what is mine as suffering, it is too much to say that whatever abandons what is mine does not exist just because of that. Even if you are detached from attachment to self, how can you abandon self, because it is the same as not abandoning self. If you admit it, the person who meditates on what is mine as suffering is the subject. It would be too much to say that meditating on what is mine as suffering becomes meaningless. Even if you are detached from attachment to what is mine, it is because you do not abandon what is mine. Fourth, there are two: establishing the consequence and refuting the objection. First, the seeker of liberation is the subject. It would be too much to say that meditating on what is mine as suffering becomes meaningless in order to be free from attachment to what is mine. Because even if you meditate on those things that are mine as suffering, it is only to realize that it is the nature of suffering, and just because of that, you will not be free from attachment to what is mine. Because some of what is mine is suffering, even if it was previously established by direct perception, even so, there is no detachment from attachment to it. Second, if you see suffering, you will be detached from attachment, because seeing faults in some things, you will see detachment from attachment to it, if you think like that. The one with self-grasping is the subject. If, because of seeing the faults of what is mine, at the moment of seeing the faults

Therefore, even if the thought of attachment disappears, the clinging to "I" will never disappear, because there is attachment to other things. This is because, in general, if there is a distinction between what should be taken and what should be abandoned for certain things, then the attachment arising from one thing that should be taken, under the influence of conditions, will become the seed of attachment to all things that should be abandoned, etc. For example, some people with desires, seeing the faults in one woman, although the attachment obviously disappears, but because there is attachment to other women, so taking this as a cause, attachment will also arise to the previous woman. The fifth part is divided into two points: presenting the inference, and refuting the defense. First point: The subject, a person, will his attachment to the flawed things of samsara disappear? It will not disappear. Because "I" has no faults, and the attachment to it also has no faults, and the "mine" and other things that serve as arguments also have no faults, therefore they are not objects from which attachment should be removed. This is because the dharma of samsara is also just these three. Acknowledging the reason for the previous argument, because if "I" has no faults, then the other two will naturally also have no faults. Second point: The reason that the attachment to the object has no faults is not established, because the attachment to "I" is the root of suffering, so it also has faults. However, the word "also" includes that from the perspective of the object of "I", there are no faults. Then, "I", the subject, has faults, because it is the root of suffering, which is the same for you. If you admit it, then the subject who seeks liberation, just because he has faults, will his attachment to anything that is "mine" disappear? It will not disappear, because even if "I" has faults, there is no disappearance of attachment to the faults of "I". Sixth point: If attachment to "mine" arises from seeing the advantages, then seeing the disadvantages of "mine" should disappear, but the attachment to power and other "mine", the subject, is not only produced by seeing the advantages of "mine", because you can also be seen in children and livestock, etc., who cannot distinguish between advantages and disadvantages, and you also exist in your own flawed senses, and even if they have advantages, you do not exist in the power and other things of other people.
