If asked, is it like the heat of fire cannot be escaped (cannot escape suffering)? Answer: Ashes, as the subject, are not harmful to Buddhists, because the Buddhist claim that (ashes are hot) and the sign (fire is hot) are not established, because of selflessness. Then, where should samsara and liberation be established? Answer: Merely considering the aggregates of suffering as having causes is established as samsara; merely not arising because the cause has been severed is established as liberation. If it is said that a person, as the subject, should not strive to escape samsara and attain liberation, because the self of the samsaric and the liberated does not exist. Answer: If from the perspective of ultimate truth, it is admitted; if from the perspective of conventional truth, then the reason is not established. Thus, a person, as the subject, it is reasonable to strive to escape samsara and attain liberation in conventional truth, because as long as attachment to self has not been destroyed, and the aggregates with attachment to self are constantly tormented by suffering, then I am clung to as suffering, and there is no dwelling in the nature of bliss, so in conventional truth I am a samsaric being. Although the self of the liberated does not exist in ultimate truth, in order to destroy the inverted clinging to self and what belongs to self, the effort of the aggregates is established as my effort in conventional truth. The key meaning is this: except for the Multitudinous, all three schools of realists in our own tradition consider that I and the person, sentient beings, and individuals do not exist in ultimate truth, so bondage and liberation are not reasonable in ultimate truth; while the aggregates exist in ultimate truth, so bondage and liberation are reasonable in ultimate truth. In conventional truth, I am the agent of bondage and liberation, because when the aggregates suffer, I cling to it as my suffering; when the aggregates are liberated from suffering, I cling to it as my liberation from suffering. The Multitudinous and the outsiders consider that I exist in ultimate truth, so bondage and liberation are reasonable in ultimate truth. Dividing the aggregates and the self into two, existing and not existing in ultimate truth, and establishing the aggregates as acting and experiencing the results of actions, and establishing me as acting and experiencing the results of actions in conventional truth, is a branch that is needed in many situations. The third part is divided into two points: abandoning the place where there is no detachment from desire, and abandoning rebirth in the first noble path. The first part is divided into three points: explaining the two causes of the place of detachment from desire, refuting the debate on the meaning of the cause, and the meaning of the place.

Refutation of the debate. The first point is: If those with self-grasping remain in samsara because of the power of craving, then how do those who are free from desire remain in samsara? For a person who is free from desire, you temporarily have a reason to remain in samsara, because you have two possibilities: either a Mahayana Arya remains in samsara because of love and great compassion, or a Hinayana Arhat remains in samsara because of the power of past karma, because they believe that past karma has already cast off the aggregates of this life, so it is temporarily impossible to reverse. As it is said in the Chapter of Meaningful Words: "One should not rejoice in death, nor should one rejoice in life. Like a well-trained elephant, I wait for the time to come." The second point is divided into two parts: refuting the debate about karma, and refuting the debate about love. The first point is: If those who are free from desire remain in samsara because of karma, then will their karma also connect the continuum in other existences? For the karma of the continuum of those who are free from desire, who have completely transcended the craving for existence, it is not possible to cast into other existences, because both the co-operative factors, craving and thirst, have been exhausted. The second point is: Those who are free from desire, you must have a view of sentient beings, because you have compassion. For the love that arises in the continuum of directly knowing the impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness of the truth of suffering, that is not a self-view related to sentient beings, because there are no adverse conditions such as hatred, and it is a mental phenomenon that follows the previous habituation of compassion. Also, those who are free from desire, you will become those with desire, because you have compassion. For the love of those who are free from desire, that is not desire, because there is no distorted clinging to the object, but only the recognition of the stream of suffering of others, therefore you will arise. This is pervasive, because for the aggregates of phenomena that are not of the nature of permanence, happiness, self, and mine, clinging to permanence, etc., arises from the nature of the object, and thus desire arises. Also, those who are free from desire, if harm is done to the object of love, you will become angry, because you have love.
