The expressive sound is the subject of the proposition. It is not without purpose, because from among the many such as the shape of a vase, the difference in the ability to generate eye consciousness, etc., for those such as shape and smell, it is specifically distinguished and shown. By the sound of the shape of a vase, in terms of showing the difference in the ability of the shape of a vase, it is the subject of the proposition. The smell of sandalwood and others should also be said to show the difference in ability, because the smell of sandalwood can indicate that it is distinguished from other smells. Secondly, it is also unreasonable for many limbs to be the cause, there are two: the collection of limbs is not the cause, each limb is not the cause. The first is: if, according to the two positions, the many limbs of the body are the substantial cause of consciousness, then either all the limbs are collected or each one is the cause. As in the first case, consciousness is the subject of the proposition. Even if separated from one of the limbs of the body, such as the ear, you should not arise, because the collection of all the limbs of the body is your cause. The second has three: stating the damaging fallacy, refuting its fault, and eliminating what is similar to oneself. The first is: as in the second position, a being with a body is the subject of the proposition. It should follow that many streams of consciousness substances arise at the same time, because each limb of the body can also generate each consciousness. The second has two: one breath is not the cause of consciousness, many are not the cause of consciousness. The first is: even if there are many bodies, many consciousnesses will not arise simultaneously, because there is only one breath exhaling and inhaling, so it is certain that each consciousness arises from that, if you say so. Breathing in and out, etc., is the subject of the proposition. Because you are the only one, it is not certain that each consciousness is determined, because you are the same as the body and many particles. If it is not established, because breath and body are constant and one, so consciousness arises in sequence, if you say so, then a being with a body is the subject of the proposition. It should follow that many consciousness substances appear and arise at the same time, because the cause of many consciousness substances, the breath and the constant body that have become unimpeded in ability, are always near. If the breath and the constant one body are not the cause of generating many consciousness substances at the same time, but generate them in sequence, then...

Then, breath and body are permanent dharmas, and gradually they will not generate thoughts, because there is no difference between the one that does not generate thoughts before and the permanent dharma. Furthermore, even if breathing in and out is considered as one, for those with a body, breathing in and out must be one, but thoughts are not necessarily one, because for one thing like the outward movement of breath, thoughts that hold multiple meanings before and after will arise. If it is said that it is not pervasive, because multiple meanings before and after are known by one thought without parts, then, that thought, at the time of holding the previous meaning, will simultaneously hold multiple meanings before and after, because there is no contradiction in simultaneously holding multiple meanings before and after at the time of holding the previous meaning. If it is not established, then that thought will not gradually hold multiple meanings before and after, because there is no difference from not holding multiple meanings even afterwards. The second part is divided into two points: refuting the generation by multiple gradual occurrences, and refuting the generation by multiple simultaneous occurrences. The first point is: because breath is not of its own kind, many moments of breath with sequential order before and after arise from the permanent body. If it is thought that such a thought is the cause of sequential thoughts, then, how will those breaths arise in sequential order before and after? They will not arise, because there is no cause for arising with a prior order. If it is said that it is not established, because the previous one of its own kind is the cause, then, for those with a body, the first breath of this life will not arise, because before the breath of this life there is no such prior cause of the same kind as breath. If it is not established, then there will be a previous life. Even if there is a prior breath of the same kind, the breath must be multiple, because it arises from multiple places of different sources. If it is admitted, then for one person, multiple entities of mind will arise simultaneously, because there are multiple breaths existing simultaneously. The second point is: if it is said that even if there are multiple breaths, those breaths do not each generate one thought, but multiple breaths are also at the same time, that is, the cause of one thought of the same temporality, so multiple thoughts
