Subject of dharma. Just as a cow and a heifer are not immediate causes and do not possess immediate causes, because concomitance and contradiction are not established. Fourth, if body and mind are not immediate causes and do not possess immediate causes, then it contradicts being together, if you say so. The body and mind of sentient beings, subject of dharma. It is not because they are immediate causes and possess immediate causes that they exist together, because the co-operative condition of the cause of the immediate cause of that body generating the subsequent body is done by the mind, and it is the fruit arising from that, so it is because they exist together. For example, when copper is burned by fire, the fire and the molten copper itself arise from one cause, so they exist together. The third has two parts: stating the fallacy and refuting other answers. First, the body, subject of dharma. It is not the actual support of mind and intellect, because you are not the support for minds that exist and do not exist in your own time. The second has four parts: refuting the support by the way it is already established, refuting the similar example that makes it already established, refuting other already established things in that way, and extensively explaining the prevention of dwelling by the cause of dwelling. The first has two parts: refuting by analysis and refuting by excessive fallacy. First, if the first reason is not established, because the cause of the mind that is already established as existing, the body, is the support of the mind, if you say so. This body, subject of dharma. It is not the support of the mind that is already established and abiding, because it is unreasonable to analyze whether the abiding of the mind is one with or different from the mind. Thus, if the abiding of the mind is one with the abider, the mind, the abiding of the mind, subject of dharma. The body did not generate you, because you are not other than the abider, the mind, so it arises from the cause of the mind. If the abiding of the mind is other than the abider, the mind, then that body, subject of dharma. What did it do or not do to the object of the mind's abiding, because it is the cause itself of the abiding of the mind that is other than the mind. The second has two parts: stating the fallacy and refuting the fault. First, the mind, subject of dharma. It will become indestructible, because the support, the body, which makes itself abide without destruction, is permanent. Second, if the body does not make the mind indestructible, but the mind wants to be destroyed by encountering the cause of destruction, so there is no fault.

Now, if it is said that one wishes to generate the later cause for the destruction of the mind, then for that, the fault of examining whether the destruction of the mind is the same as or different from the mind is the same. If the destruction of the mind is the same as the mind, then there is no need to generate the later cause; if it is different, then the cause of destruction is not what causes the mind to be destroyed, because destruction is considered to be a different entity from the mind. Furthermore, the cause of the mind's existence is also a subject of debate. What has the non-destruction of the mind done or not done? If it does not encounter the cause of destruction, then even if you do not exist, the mind will not be destroyed; if it encounters the cause of destruction, then even if you exist, you cannot prevent the mind from being destroyed. If it is said that in the interval of encountering the cause of destruction, the body causes the mind to exist without being destroyed, then the mind is a subject of debate. What does the cause of existence, the body, do for you? It becomes meaningless, because your destruction exists in the nature of your entity, and this is not harmed by valid cognition. Secondly, if the already established basis of existence, for example, the pot, which is the already established basis of existence for water, and the qualities and universals included in it, etc., are already established basis of existence for entities, and similarly, the body is also the already established basis of existence for the mind, then the pot, etc., are subjects of debate. You should not be the basis of existence for water, etc., that does not perish, because you are considered to be the basis of existence for water, etc., that does not perish. For this, the harm from "this has no basis" to "what has it done" is the same. Then, how is the term "basis" and "supported" seen for those? The pot, etc., are subjects of debate. It is not the basis of water, etc., by means of causing water, etc., to exist without perishing, because the entities of water, etc., perish in each moment. The continuum of entities of water, etc., is in the same place, and is the cause of such arising, therefore it is the basis of water, etc. If it is not the meaning of such a basis, then it is not reasonable to be a basis. Vessels, etc., prevent water, etc., from flowing downwards, therefore they become the basis of water, etc. For qualities, universals, and actions, are subjects of debate. What other meaning of basis is needed? It is not needed, because it is an entity that does not have the activity of going to another place. Thirdly, the already established non-perishing basis and supported
