Because it is the nature of its own. According to the second case, the object is the subject of the proposition. What other basis is needed to make it exist without destruction? It is not needed, because if it is not the nature of self-destruction, it will exist without destruction. The fourth case has four points: establishing the reason for preventing other causes; establishing the reverse pervasion on dissimilar examples; refuting the statement that the reason is not established; summarizing and showing the establishment of the self-cause. The first point is: wisdom and compassion, etc., are the subject of the proposition, not arising from the proximate cause of the body, because they do not directly depend on the excellence and decline of the body, but become excellent and decline due to the difference of the increase and decrease of wisdom. The second point is: if it is said that there is no pervasion, then for things like lamplight that depend on external proximate causes, it is not the case that they follow the increase and decrease of wisdom without the increase and decrease of their own proximate causes, because they do not depend on the increase and decrease of wisdom, but increase and decrease according to the increase and decrease of their own proximate causes. The third point is: the fundamental reason is not established, because the strength and weakness of the body will produce the clarity and unclearness of wisdom. Then, the fact that the strength and weakness of the body makes wisdom, etc., different is the subject of the proposition, not arising from the direct benefit of wisdom by the strength and weakness of the body, because the strength and weakness of the body does not benefit the mind, and if it does not benefit wisdom, then it is produced by the body indirectly benefiting wisdom. Also, because the strength and weakness of the body will produce attachment and aversion, the fundamental reason is not established. For inappropriate attention and some aggregates, attachment and so on, aversion gradually increase with the growth and decline of the body, which is also the subject of the proposition, not directly produced by the strength and weakness of the body, but produced by the root consciousness transformed from the pleasure and pain produced successively from the strength and weakness of the body, and the pleasure and pain are also close to the internal tactile differences of the harmony and disharmony of the elements produced from the strength and weakness of the body, and the rotation of the body consciousness is produced from the aggregate of the body's senses. By showing that attachment and so on are not directly produced from the body, this is the Dharma.
