Since death has already occurred, why is there no rebirth and continued existence? Because there exists a body that is the cause of the transformation of consciousness and is free from adverse conditions. The second part has four points: If it is the immediate cause, then contradiction is established; if it is not a contradiction, then it is not the immediate cause; apply this to the meaning of the present context; refute the contradiction with co-existence. The first point is: Generally, if the immediate cause does not change, then the effects that are the result of the immediate cause cannot change. For example, if the clay does not change, then the pots and other things produced from the immediate cause of the clay will not change. The second point is: If the cause of a thing does not change, then the cause of a thing that changes cannot be the immediate cause of that effect. For example, if the bull does not change, but the cow and others change, then the bull cannot be the immediate cause of the cow. The third point is: Mind and body are also phenomena, just like the bull and the cow, they should not be the immediate cause and the immediate effect, because the following and the contradiction are not established. The fourth point is: If the body and mind are not the immediate cause and the immediate effect, then it contradicts co-existence, if you say so. The body and mind of sentient beings are phenomena, they are not co-existent because they are the immediate cause and the immediate effect, but because the immediate cause of that body produces the later body, and at the same time the mind acts as a contributing factor to produce the result, so it is co-existent. For example, when copper is burned by fire, the fire and the molten copper are both produced from one cause, so they are co-existent. The third part has two points: Establishing the thesis; refuting other answers. The first point is: The body is a phenomenon, it should not be the real basis of the mind, because you are not the basis of the minds that exist and do not exist in your time. The second part has four points: Refuting the basis by the way of being established and existing; refuting the similar examples that make it established and existing; in this way also negating other things that are established and existing; elaborating on preventing existence by the cause of existence. The first point has two points: Refuting through analysis; refuting through extreme consequences. The first point is: If the first reason is not established, because the cause of the existence of the mind that has been established, the body is the basis of the mind, if you say so. This body is a phenomenon, the mind has been established
