That which possesses self-grasping that is free from attachment is the subject. Attachment arises towards what is mine, because it possesses self-grasping. It is pervasive: because in all ways, self-grasping stabilizes attachment to the self, and that attachment to the self abides in the state of the seed of clinging to what is mine, without any deficiency. Therefore, the person who meditates on what is mine as suffering in order to be free from attachment to what is mine is the subject. Even though striving to meditate on what is mine as suffering, attachment to the self itself hinders being free from attachment to what is mine, and it also obscures and makes invisible the faults of what is mine, because relying on seeing the aspects of the qualities of what is mine, like the conditions, it possesses the seed of attachment to the self arising. Second: If there is attachment to the self, then attachment to what is mine will not separate, but even if detachment is that, it is also because detachment from the self, therefore the reason for attachment to the self is not established, if you say so. Now, that detachment is the subject. Even though detachment from it because meditating on what is mine as suffering, but just because of that, it should be that there is no abandoning of what is mine, because it is the same as how even if detached from attachment to the self, how does one abandon the self without abandoning the self. If you accept, then the person who meditates on what is mine as suffering is the subject. Meditating on what is mine as suffering will become meaningless, because even if detached from attachment to what is mine, one does not abandon what is mine. Fourth has two: stating the consequence, refuting the exoneration. First: The seeker of liberation is the subject. Meditating on what is mine as suffering in order to be free from attachment to what is mine will become meaningless, because even meditating on those things that are mine as suffering, it is only making manifest the nature of suffering, and just that will not lead to being free from attachment to what is mine, because some things that are mine are suffering, which even before was established by direct perception, even so, there is no freedom from attachment to it. Second: If seeing suffering leads to detachment, because seeing the faults of some objects leads to seeing detachment from it, if you say so. The one with self-grasping is the subject. If because of seeing the faults of what is mine, at the moment of seeing the faults, that

Even if the thought of attachment to other things disappears, the attachment to what I possess will never be severed, because there is attachment to other things. Universally: In general, if there is a distinction between what should be taken and what should be abandoned for some things, then the attachment arising from one thing that should be taken, under the influence of conditions, will become the seed of attachment to all things. For example, some lustful people, because they see faults in one woman, their attachment to her will disappear, but because they have attachment to other women, they will generate attachment to the previous woman as well. The fifth part is divided into two points: stating the thesis and refuting the fault. First point: the subject, the person. He will not sever attachment to the flawed things of samsara, because I am without fault, and the attachment to the object is also without fault, and the "mine" etc. that can be established are also without fault, so these are not objects that should be severed from attachment. Universally: pervasive, because sentient beings, that is, the dharma of samsara, are only these three. Acknowledge the previous reason, because if I am without fault, then the other two will naturally be considered faultless. Second point: If it is said that the attachment to the object is without fault, then this reason is not established, because the attachment to me is the root of suffering, so it is also flawed. However, the word "also" includes that from the perspective of the object I possess, it is without fault. Then, the subject, I. It becomes flawed, because being the root of suffering is the same for you. If you admit it, then the subject who seeks liberation, just because it is flawed, he will not sever attachment to what I possess, because he will not sever attachment to the faults of what I possess. Sixth point: If the clinging to "mine" arises from seeing merits, then it should disappear because of seeing the faults of "mine", but the attachment to the senses and other "mine", the subject. It is not only because of seeing the merits of "mine", because you can also see it in children and livestock who do not know the difference between merits and faults, and you can also see it in your own flawed senses, and even if it has merits, you do not exist in the senses of other people.
